What do u guys think which is the best State in America to live…?
Or best area in some particular State…
Re: Best State..
Depends on what you want to do there living? If you want a peaceful, non-rush life then a small town in Kansas, Louisiana, Utah can be good. If you are into surfing (wave surfing, not internet surfing) then you might wanna go to a California beach town or if you don't care about hurricanes you can go somewhere in Florida.... so, it comes down to your lifestyle :-), if you are into night-life then places like Chicago, New York may be good etc.
Re: Best State..
Minnesota...Twincities...Metro Area....GO TWINS!!!!

Re: Best State..

Re: Best State..
If you like hectic life, live in New York
If you like sun, beach and style....live in California or Florida
If you have nothing to do, live in Nebraska, Iowa, Utah, South Dakota, Indiana. Perhaps u could milk cows there too :)
If you want complete isolation, live in Guam or Hawaii
LOL for desies it is Taksaaas.
Charlotte and its suburbs are best place to live and raise kids.
Great weather, cleaner air , awesome home prices , plenty of jobs and small business opportunities.
Twin Cities, Minnesota :biggthumb
Re: Best State..
I like Dallas due to weather and desi activities and few good places but it has no natural beauty except resturants, some areas of interest and lakes. Its flat and just flat!
Most of California, NC, , TN, NM, NY, FL, MO, Chicago Not whole IL are good for living. I may be missing some.
MN is just too cold in winter. But summer is great and lots of street activities plus nice people.
Houston is called the armpit of Texas by Texans. But there are many places to eat or concerts for desi people. The Galveston beach is dirty and smelly.
Most of CA (SF, SD, Karmal by the Beach-Clint Eastwood city beaches may be clean but water is cooler except in LA where water is warm but not so clean. San Jose is good also. Sacremento is far from water activities.
Re: Best State..
denver best best and the best city
Re: Best State..
Bay Area, California. :k:
Re: Best State..
Orlando, Florida.....Woooohooo!!!!!!!!!!
And I dream of one day visiting New York and Chicago, IL.....and Hawaii. Virginia is pretty too and lively.....but brrrrr, freezing!
And I always wonder about the non-cool rarely-heard-about states. It's funny. It's like you wonder to yourself......who on earth lives in Wyoming, or the Dakotas, or Nebraska, or Montana.......it's like you picture them as isolated states with a low population. LOOOOL. Anybody else find that funny?
Re: Best State..
I found Massachusetts to be the best so far in US. ( off four five states I have been too).. Mostly case ppl are nice and educated,( imagine living with MIT and Harvard guys) the whole state is damn beautiful., the weather is fine too as well ( other than few snow storms in winter) and taxes are less as compared to many other states.
So for me, Boston and all the neighboring areas are really good.
Re: Best State..
Western Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula, ahhh, rural bliss...
I've traveled to a lot of the states either because I lived there (three states and counting) or for work, leisurely travel and/or service projects.
I think Texas (Taxas, Tek-saas) is a great place to raise a family. The cost of living is generally low, crime is controlled in suburban areas, homes are affordable and there's lots and lots of land. Dallas is great as there is a thriving desi community. Houston, as a city SUCKS. But Sugarland, TX is often voted one of the best places to raise your family. My fiance grew up there and never locked his doors at home. Austin is probably my favorite in this entire state, though.
Florida is beautiful and sunny. But the cost of living is quite high. Most markets are saturated and there is really no city within the state that has a high desi population. South Florida is predominantly hispanic and caters to that demographic. Crime in the densely populated portions of Florida is quite high. Housing prices fluctuate as well. IMO, not the ideal place to raise a family. Good for young singles or couples who don't have much overheard. If I had to move back to Florida, I'd probably go to Tampa.
Georgia is a great state, very beautiful. The city of Atlanta is cultured and has a lot to offer. However, it is also very diverse. It is currently the pulse of the African American community. But these are highly successful African Americans, with careers, and who typically fall in a higher income bracket. There is also a high crime rate in the city of Atlanta. The outlying cities like Savannah are gorgeous and relaxed. However, I like being in the midst of things, so I'd choose to live in Atlanta.
My new favorite is Arizona. Sure the weather can get really sunny, but to balance it out you've got calm winters. This is a developing city, so everything seems new and pristine! There is great shopping and nightlife. Raising a family is affordable and the quality of life seems high. Job markets are not saturated and there are lots of opportunities for those looking for upward mobility. In my opinon Phoenix is the heart of this state!
California has perfect weather! I hate LA though. POO! It's very crowded, very polluted and very much up its own arse! San Fransisco is gorgeous on the other hand. Very cool people, relaxed atmosphere and quite diverse in its population and mindset. I love that its hilly and beautiful. On the other hand you need gobs of money to live comfortable in the Bay area. If I had that kind of money, I'd move into downtown San Fransisco or San Jose.
I love NYC! But I would never want to raise my family there. You could live out in the suburbs, but whats the point of dealing with harsh winters if you can't even enjoy the city? If I was young and single, I wouldn't hesitate one second in moving to Manhattan.
Colorado is great. A lovely place to raise your family, opportunities for income abound, but again, it is quite cold!! I enjoyed Denver as a city and would love to take advantage of their winter sports!
Chicago, like many large and historic cities is densely populated and tough to survive in. If you can manage, then you're living a highly cultured city where something is always going on. Of course, you're dealing with space issues and chilly weather.
I like Washington, particularly Seattle. Its rainly and slick, but there's a nice mix of people and good opportunities.
Speaking of Washingtons, being in DC always gets me excited. It was my dream to intern or work in DC for a few years. This city has a lot to offer for young professionals (even if you're not into politics).
I wouldn't raise a family in Pennsylvania (too populated and crappy weather)
I don't care for the state of Alabama (too hick)
I think Tennessee is a great state to consider and Memphis is a great city.
Oklahoma is just okay.
I'm undecided on Virginia.
And Nevada can be a surprisingly rewarding state if you would consider moving into the suburbs surrounding Las Vegas.
Re: Best State..
US Virgin Islands.
US Virgin Islands.
Um, no pun intended?

I have been to that area many times. What I saw:
- Traffic congestion like crazy.
- Tiny horribly built houses. Reminded me of poorly constructed houses in Karachi. Everything is a luxury, including having a proper kitchen, a proper bathroom, and a parking garage.
- Harsh winters. Snow only looks fun for a few days.
- Harvard and MIT may be nice, but for the average person who is not going there, it doesn't matter. Maybe if one is interested in the arts and cultural activities going on there. But that whole Cambridge area is super congested.
- Have to pay to park on your own street if you live in the busy areas.
- Housing costs a lot of money. Most of your salary will just be gone in that.
I also can't imagine living in Cali. Maybe they get paid more, but not that much more that a person can afford to purchase a proper house.
Tampa rocks!!!
