They cause so much smell around them … so I have placed them in the corner of the house that is not the common use area , it is next to the back door , so it can get damp sometimes .. and that is making the onions go off real quick
If i try placing then somewhere in the kitchen , the issue of smell remains … any options that you guys can share with me?
kuchh na boleN bas DanDa lahraatii raheN mere sar pe basement nahiiN hai to backyard meN koi shed to hogaa…ya’nii tool-shed etc? vahaN rakh deN…agar koi jagah na ho to bed ke neeche waale drawers meN rakh leN
I put them in the fridge....in other homes, I have seen them out in the kitchen and I have never noticed an odor ever. onoins dont give off smell until they're cut....and potatoes def dont give a smell
Why don't you process them and put them in a ziplock box or any box or pan which has air tight lid and then store them in your fridge ?
We keep ours in our garage.
in a netting, cool dry place.
I keep mine in the kitchen near the window ..... haven't had any smelly/rotting issues ....... but then the dry climate of my place vs the damp of UK probably has quite a bit to do with this.
At home, we keep them in the veg stand thing in the kitchen, and they don't ever smell, but mummy tends to buy them every few days, so it may be because you are keeping them longer.
you should not keep open onions and open potatoes together as they give off chemicals that make each other go off quicker. make sure u store in bags or containers seperate.
