Best Parenting Moments

So with all the people on GS having babies left and right, I was wondering what y’all thought/think has been your favorite parenting moment, at least thus far. For me it’s when I pick up Lila at the day care and she’s crawling around on the floor and she sees me and gives me the biggest most beautiful toothy smile and then crawls towards me as fast as she can, that just makes me melt.

Re: Best Parenting Moments

awwww now. That is so sweet.

I guess it's when my choti cuddles up with me and rests her entire weight in my lap and looks up at me with the utmost security in her eyes as if to say "mom don't ever let me go"....if feel like so needed so loved. My older daughter is so verbal with her emotions now and very open as well so with her I get constant feedback of my performance as a mommy. She tells me everyday that she thanks Allah for making her dad and me her parents. I think that's quite a summary eh?

Re: Best Parenting Moments

aahmed, that's so adorable!! I can't wait 'til Izzah starts crawling. Or maybe I can.

So far, it's the way she smiles back at me when I look at her. She actually smiles at you like a grown up who knows what they're smiling about.

Re: Best Parenting Moments

well my lil son says MAMA with such an innocent face whenever he has done something wrong.and when my elder son says MAMA I LOVE YOU ,even if he is getting late from school.he never forgets to say that:@:

Re: Best Parenting Moments

When at the end of a busy day my eldest says to me with so much happpiness and joy "Ummi is my best friend".

Re: Best Parenting Moments

I cant wait to be in that position inshallah...

Re: Best Parenting Moments

Like Seabee, my fav moment is also when Kanzah smiles at me with her big eyes. The huge toothless smile and her goo-gaa-gaa is all so worth it.

Re: Best Parenting Moments

I have so many -

Every morning when my 2 year old nose dives on top of me and says "waake up, waake up, waake up"

Re: Best Parenting Moments

Man, great stories, I have to make an addition to mine, this is a new development in the last couple of days, now, not only does she crawl right up to me, she grabs on to my legs and stands herself up holding on to me and looks up at me, man, it's killer. I'm entering the dangerous part of parenting where I'm actually beginning to actually like my daughter :D

Re: Best Parenting Moments

I absolutely adore the way my toddler sometimes calls me "ma" rather than mama. I wonder where he picked it from. Also when he says "shoey (sorry) mama" makes my heart melt.

Re: Best Parenting Moments

ah. im so happy to be able to reply in such a thread

im only a week old parent.. my baby is learning how to be a human and im getting over severe tiredness to actually be able to start enjoying my son…

so.. for the time being.. its seeing him feed without throwing a tantrum at not getting milk, without sucking
and the smile he gives once he is done feeding… as if he is high on bhang :cb: he smiles and u can see his eyes rolling around inside, with his lids closed .. hehe

Re: Best Parenting Moments

ok, so my kid is like 2 so ive got a bit too many of these moments...

i love the way she'll bump into me or something she's not supposed to be doing.. and she'll turn around and go

"woops showwy mama..."

the other was yesterday when she was telling me about trains.. i picked her up from her childcare and was on the way to pick up the hubz and its a really busy area, trains on the top, trams on the sides.. bikes, cars, trucks everywhere...

then i hear

"i cant see.... i cant see... Heba cant see train"

it was halarious... im loving the new english vocab.. like she is picking up sooo many words these days its outstanding.

and oh yes, lastnight when she was brushing my hair and attempting to tie it up.. then she'd put her face infront of me and give me kisses on each side of the cheek.. Cus i always do that to her when im fixing her hair or doing anything for her.. she always gets kisses on her cheeks.. they are just soooo edible..

i always ask her..

"heba, can mama eat ur cheeks..." and she'll say.. "nooo my cheeks!" hahaha
