OK i remember the worst commentator in the history of Pakistan cricket. He was actually a radio commentator and we use to hear him alot when often cricket was not seen live on TV (mid, late 80's and even early 90's). His name was Mohammad Idrees and although that guy was ridiculously pathetic commentator but still at times we use to laugh at his comments. Some of his comments i still remember
Merv Hughes aaiey maindad ko gaind karnay, aur samaieen, maindad nay aik intehieee shandar shott khila, aisa mushkil shot sirf maindad jaisay batsman hee kee kitab may aap ko milay ga aurrrrrrrrr Pakistan kay score may 1 run ka izafa ho gya (that was actually the most irritating part of his commentary, which he use to do often exaggerating a shot so much when the result was only 1 run)
Qadir aieey bracewell ko ball karanay aur BRACEWELLL BOLDDDD. Bracewell nay apnee wicketo ko dekha aur phir qadir ko aisa dekha jaisay khe rhay hoon" Qadir yeah tu nay kya kya"
Alderman aiey saeed anwar ko gaind karanay aur saeed anwar nay alderman ko utha kar boundary say bahir phaink dya (saeed anwar hit a huge six at sydney)
I dunno Ali... my memory still tells me that it was Muneer Daar.. but again I was too young to remember those days... I was like 6-7 years old in those mid/late 80's days...
Muneer Dar is a hockey player. His sons also played for Pakistan, if I am not mistaken. The cricket commentator is/was Muneer Husain. The guy with really thick glasses.
the same person whose urdu Radio commentary, we used to immitate in classroom (by putting our hands on the mouths) and teachers used to go crazy finding out for the hidden radios during 87 world cup :D
