Best Omelete

There are various ways people make their omeletes. I like mine all mashed up, with diced tomatoes, chilly pepper, sliced olives, light melted cheese and fresh english cucumbers sliced on the side.

What recipe do u use or what kind of omelete do u prefer?

Re: Best Omelete

In margarine with onions, tomatoes, red, green and bell peppers with salt accordingly. Adding mashrooms is an acquired taste.

Re: Best Omelete

a tip

add an extra egg yolk or two for richness

Re: Best Omelete

margarine is bad

mr A...use sunflower or veg oil

Re: Best Omelete

I have a few bad habits that I intend to keep :snooty: Its enough that I moved from butter to ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’.

Re: Best Omelete

Ahmadjee..I believe that its better to have a little of something natural like butter than alot of something unatural like marg...

and If I believe that ...it must be right!!!
but seriously

try giving oil a try... for your long term health:)

Re: Best Omelete

I am really disappointed by posters in this thread. Furqan can be excused for being a novice in the culinary art but ahmadjee and lazy_daisy? Oh I am disgusted. You two don't even know the difference between omelete and scrambled eggs??? You desis always scramble your terminology. For Pete's sake, retract your posts right away before I scramble you both with ****take mushrooms!

Furqi, I like my omeletes folded with green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and diced chicken.

Tip, don't add salt to eggs mixture. It will prevent the omelete from becoming rubbery.

Re: Best Omelete

Ms. Lazy, my mother always has made me eggs with oil and so does my wife. I just like the salty margarine taste.

funguy, with all culinary respect, I like mine folded too but to scramble it so it becomes a salan like mixture to be eaten with achar and paratha is also very common in my family.

Re: Best Omelete

Funguy..Dont you talk in that tone with me Boyo:mad:

I merely mentioned… that if you add exra egg yolks the end product will be richer…

Pray prithee…tell me how that translates to scrambled eggs:p

whisk up the eggs (with added yolk)

pour in pan, move the middle part around with a spatula untill its set and then

just to spite the mushroom man…take some fried sliced mushroomswith garlic and add over teh top and fold

or add Strawberry Jam

or smoked salmon and chives
or chocolates sauce

or last nights curry

you can make a Spanish Tortilla…which is eggs pured over sliced cooked potatoes, onions and peppers…leave to set on a low heat and serve sliced into wedges with salad

Re: Best Omelete

:hula:
My omelets are pretty famous in my house:

I add tomatoes, onions, corriander, cheese, mushrooms, green/red peppers, some chilli, a little bit of water or milk, salt, pepper, a pinch of dania powder and garam masala.

Re: Best Omelete

You might as well call it a frikkin’ Qorma! So many masaalay in an omelete for breakfast? No thank you. I rather have mine over-easy.

Re: Best Omelete

Funguy...it's all about flavour. I hate plain omelets.

Re: Best Omelete

BTW I dont eat ommelette

Re: Best Omelete

my secret to fluffy omelettes is to beat the eggs really well, and make sure the oil is hot - your omelette will phool like noones business.

Re: Best Omelete

oil is hot, mix 2 eggs with everything in it (tomates, onions, peppers, chilli powder) put the mixture on the tawwa and mash it up really well..

Re: Best Omelete

what are you guys "mashing" your omelettes for? that aint an omellete, those are scrambled eggs i tell you!

Re: Best Omelete

wait what's an omelette?

Re: Best Omelete

I don't put much in mine, but I make sure I put hot peppers, and tons of salt!

Re: Best Omelete

add a spoon of besan/maida in the beaten egg mixture. Also, add a very finely chopped garlic clove... gives good taste and texture...

Re: Best Omelete
