Was this topic really about how much one makes or who's company is stealing from who? I don't think so. If you don't choose to buy their products that's your choice but for you to claim that they are not even proper-trained or this or that, that sounds ridiculous. Most of their artists do amazing work, better than all the other professional MUA, and that's what matters. To put them down as 'drag queens' or something so degrading, THAT'S shallow. As long as it appeals to me, I don't care who thinks what. And puhhleaze, don't start with this how would you know, are you professional or whatever. If people went around with their 'naked eye' or a microscope to see how well others' makeup were applied, that would probably be the end of the world. All I said was that a MAC trained artist did my makeup and you started with your, MAC artists are so this and that.. you haven't seen her work, you don't have the slightest clue about what she's like and you go on making stupid comments just because she's affiliated with MAC. And now it's about how they deprive their employees- make up your mind, are you against their company, their product or just the artists in general? And by the way, since you haven't even see my MUA's work, I suggest you don't put her down.
Yes, the topic did turn into this. I made my point about why I would not use MAC on a bride. Don't go ruffle your feathers over it. You don't need to defend a company that you're not associated with (or are you?)
I don't find drag queens to be "lesser," people. In fact, I have several friends who are. However, in this industry it does speak volumes about your talent and experience when arriving to a function like that or having your company associated with that kind of look. Again, you're viewing things from a different perspective than me. So, no. It wasn't shallow.
Yes, I'll say it again. I've been to a MAC "training," session. You want to see real training? Look at MUD or other schools. You're arguing with me because your bias for a company you know nothing about, and an industry you aren't a part of. I find it very presumptuous that you've become so defensive when it was never needed nor relevant. You can like the company all you want, but I will inform everyone I can about MAC. If you don't like it, then don't look.
I didn't individually attack your makeup artist. I made a statement about the company she was affiliated with. Please, pay attention.
I have made statements about many things pertaining to the makeup itself and the company. All are relevant (that is, unless you are the type of person who doesn't give a damn about ethics or morals).
I'm against the company, their products, and the way they treat their artists. As I said before (and again, read), I feel bad for their artists because they are being stolen from.
