best implementation I have experienced of the values set for Islamic state is not in Pakistan, not Dubai, not KSA.

health and education is free to all residents.
common man can question PM about anything and he will still be safe afterwards
everyone enjoys relegious freedom.
strong anti racism law make sure equal treatment for all. a local and and a forienger have same status of human. unlike Arab states where an arab is always right when issues with a foreigner.
this may goes same for other welfare states, ie Canda, some EU
There is a lot less descrimination in UK then in Pakistan. In UK, Muslims at least have rights, and can resort to law to help them, in Pakistan only money and might count.

i am talking about serious matter here, why the true values adopted by western socities. but we just make big slogans to win elections. get votes, have some kick backs, but who actually serving nations?
lostsoul, actually there is. The United Nations did an annual report in 2003 on the human rights situation in the arab world, and in the report said that a true Islamic state was that which was envision by Imam Ali, and the Arabs should follow it.
The UNDP qouted the following sayings of Imam Ali (AS) in its 2002 Arab Human Development Report:
“He who has appointed himself an Imam (ruler) of the people must begin by teaching himself before teaching others. His teaching of others must be first by setting an example rather than with his words, for he who begins by teaching and educating himself is more worthy of respect than he who teaches and educates others.”
“Your concern with developing the land should be greater than your concern for collecting taxes, for the latter can only be obtained by developing; whereas he who seeks revenue without development destroys the country and the people.”
“Seek the company of the learned and the wise in search of solving the problems of your country and the righteousness of your people.”
“No good can come in keeping silent as to government or in speaking out of ignorance.”
“The righteous are men of virtue, whose logic is straightforward, whose dress is unostentatious, whose path is modest, whose actions are many and who are undeterred by difficulties.”
“Choose the best among your people to administer justice among them. where did it say in the report that “true Islamic state was that which was envision by Imam Ali”?
The reports quote statement of Imam Ali, but it did that to portray what Arabs ppl think in historical sense, about governance and other things. But it never said that “UN thinks Islamic state is what Imam Ali thought”
Well Imam Ali did believe in an Islamic state, and if you read Nahj ul Balagha, his letter to Malik al-Ashtar clearly defines what needs to be in an Islamic state. That's the reason why the UN quoted Imam Ali.
Imam Ali's statements are credible no matter what. I'm just showing that the UN agrees with him as well. Now if the Arab govt's were to follow, that's another story.
At least we have to say that we do not find any Islamic state after Imam Ali. All the references to a true Islamic state end after him.
btw: masterof all240 , modern Europe adopted all this from a true concept of a Islamic state, although it was not implimented by rulers cause of their own intrest.
Most Arab leaders don't think like Imam Ali, nor do most Arabs for that matter. The report is about human rights. Imam Ali is talking about human rights and how to be a just a ruler. Are you saying that the UN disagrees with human rights?
