out of others.....it depends whether you want returns/income from the investment......or you want to keep it .. kind of like preserving the weatlh......
anyways..
property is good for long-haul
gold is good as it is highly liquid
stocks/foreign currency are volatile.....not very risk free

Dude....As long as Pakistan is concerned....Cars have become an investment as they are getting really really pricy here......Ppl who bought cars 3 or so years back have earned profit selling them now irrespective of the fact that they are depreciating asset but it proved the other way

So you buy the cars…sell them later for earning profit…what do you do with the cars while they are with you?? Park them in your garage for a year or two??

Actually the investment is basically booking the cars at market price, and once you get them you sell them for an 'on' or premium sum, as is the common practice here. On a Corolla for example you'd be looking to earn around 40000 per car after you receive them 2-3 months later. This **** only happens in Pakistan.

I know about that.....but i think that comes under the definition of a business so to say.....i link investment with being a passive investor of sorts..
BTW..i think nowadays the ON stuff not that much popular...companies are delivering cars....or is it going on still??

Yeah, I think with Toyotas and Suzukis you can never get rid of ON.

depends on the time frame you are interested in, and your investment goals.
at the end of the day, it is best to be diversified and sensible with risk. know what you are investing in, be it stocks or property or currency or collectible cars. if you aren't willing to do your homework, you are merely playing the lottery in the name of investment.

Cars really isn't an investment. Its value depreciates not goes up over time. I don't know why in Pakistan a car's value goes up over time. Older it gets, its value goes down. So its not an investment.
If I had money, I would invest in Gold. Each day its price is going up by not just couple of dollars.. but massive increase. Of course you need a good amount to invest. My husband has invested in silver, it goes up but not as much as gold each day.

Buy what others are selling, and sell what others are buying. If the cab driver (or rickshaw wallah) is touting gold, run for your life.

- Car - its not an asset its an liability.
- Stocks & foreign currency are too volatile and full of risk
- Gold: Its good investment specially if you have small amount to invest and you can easily liquidate your gold is you need.
- Property (Real estate): Its best investment so far I don't know about real estate up's and down in Pakistan but in India real estate is very hot. But you should do your research before putting your money.

Property is great investment in todays world. Specially in Western Nation & countries like Pakistan/India. Long term stocks holding can be very beneficial as most of the blue chips at ultra low.

Pakistan offers some really good bargains at this time in real estate and stocks. For people who can take some long term positions this is the time to invest in Pakistan..
Be careful with story sellers. Try to invest in formal/organized sector. With quality investments in Pakistan you can not go too much wrong...
My advice to specially expatriates will be to invest in Defence properties where your titles remain secured for a long time. Try to stick to good blue chip companies if you are investing in stocks. Prices are real bargain at this time..!!!
