Yea you may be right if the person you are asking is a muslim. But wut if he’s not? But again, it all depends upon how much satisfied you wanna be. Some are satisfied by just verbal assurance while other go further ahead to confirm. Its pretty much like you ask a general question to same sane person that you know, but even after getting answer, you approach a scholar to get further details and confirmation.
