any cuisine, plus points if it’s halal.
must be located within the tri-state area (NY/NJ/CT)
any kind of review is fine (from one sentence to a couple of paragraphs)

Khan Kabab, Parsippany, NJ - cusine Pakistani ($7-$10 for most dishes - no sitting area, it mostly take out) I recommend: Kabab Rolls and keema walay Naan and murgh choolay
Kabab Paradise - Lake Hiawatha, NJ Best Afghani Food - ($7-$15) I recommend - Venus Burger with Fried onions, Gryo Platter
**Naan King - South Plainfield and Jersey City, NJ **Indo_Pak/Chinese/Thai Fusion - yumm good stuff I recomend soups, Singapore Noddles, Mocktinis, Chicken manchurain
A “Jersey City” resturant is bit pricey - portions are not huge. Very nice elegant dining Nanking Restaurant Group
Ming - Iselin, New Jersey - IndoPak/Chinese -
*I recommend: fried rice and chicken chilli, and soups - Get the table by the window because the table has a fish pod in it. Very entertaining for kids *
This guy sells gyro in front of hilton (56th street i think Manhattan, NY)... I havent had better food anywhere else. Sometimes we drive two and a half hour to eat gyro from his truck. Its just Awesome. and yea one gyro is more than enough for one person and costs 6 bucks only.
How can we talk about halal and tasty food in new york, without mentioning that special GYRO!
There are many gyros in nyc but this is really the one. $5 gets you an 8-inch tin filled to the brim with a well-spiced chicken and/or lamb gyro on top of savory rice and crisp lettuce. Emulsifying it all together is the tangy white sauce, a mayonnaise-based dressing, and a blop of hot sauce.
Btw, its at the corner of 53rd street and 6th avenue.
Shahnawaz Weekend Buffet - it includes almost every curry you can think of, plus few appetizers like gol guppay, aloo chat, pakoray sometimes etc. I thik it's better than Shezan and such a variety, include mango lassi etc as well. Located in Edison, NJ on Jackson Avenue.
Agree with the Nanking post, love their food. South Plainfield location has better food, Jersey City location is a bit tight & tough to find parking. I love the Hakka noodles, Chili Beef, Chicken drumstick appetizers are awesome.
Amin's Halal Chinese on Tonnelle Avenue/St Pauls Avenue in Jersey City - Very cheap & affordable. There is limited seating, take-out is great. About $5-7 bucks gets you a VERY filling meal. I recommend Black Pepper Chicken & also Spicy Shredded Chicken with fried rice. I also like their Chicken Wings.

i think we r talkin abt same arabic guy ... but he changed his price to 6 bucks.
Hey guys any good halal restaurants in South/Central Jersey preferably near Mt. Holly area ?
You can just go to philly, There r really good Arabic and desi resturants in philly. I dont like the resturants in south jersey but there is a store in Atlantic city. This guy makes a really good cheessteak. But thats abt it... And yea Crown chicken in AC; sometimez their biryani is good, not always though.
I come om Mondays to NJ for work and have to have lunch on the way so was just wondering if there were any places close by cuz otherwise I end up havin a Salad everytime
there’s also one in newark, i don’t know if we’re talking about the same one
they have good food too, i’ve tried their hot and spicy chicken, pretty darn good
also food land on oaktree, eventhough im sure shalimar makes the same food for itself and food land but for some reason the food in food land tastes much better than the one in shalimar or may be it’s just me
Jassi sweets i believe that’s the name on oaktree, it has very yummy paapri chaat and other chaats as well as sweets and cholay bhaturay :jano:
Tangra Masala on queens blvd in ny. love the food there, thai indian, usually crowded a small place but the food is awesome. love their falooda ice cream
Ali Baba somewhere in ny don’t remember, probably long island. a very nice afghani restaurant, roomy and the set up is beautiful too.
i honestly can’t think of any nice paki restaurants in jackson heights or coney island, they all taste the same
Yeah the Newark one Amin's is cool, but a wee bit dirty it seems. But that was like 5 years ago when I used to go to school there.
I also reccomend Bonefish Grill. I know it is a chain restaurant but the location on Route 1 in Woodbridge had excellent seafood one after the other. I recommend Crab Cakes & Bang Bang shrimp highly for appetizers. The crab was super fresh and you can see the actual meat, not just a ton of breadcrumb filler. Also I recommend you order the Salmon (or other fish) Blackened, and ask for the 4 sauces on the side so you can try them all (Asian, pineapple salsa, chimichurri & lemon butter).

I have heard A LOT about tangra masala and want to check it out soon. There are a couple of Ali Baba places near Kips Bay, both are Turkish and I don't know if they are halal or not.
Chinese Mirch on 28th (or 29th) and 3rd is pretty good but I've heard tangra masala is much better.
Any of the Gyu Kaku places are amaziiiiiiiiiiing!!! Good food, great ambience, and very fun since you grill/bbq ur own meat. It is Japanese/Korean BBQ.
One if by land, two if by sea- very romantic restaurant- American eclectic.
**Adrienne's Pizza Bar- **Haven't been there but everyone i speak to that has been there gives rave reviews.
For the most delicious homestyle Palestinian food, Tanoreen in Bay Ridge (Brooklyn) is awesome. This is probably my favorite restaurant ever! Get their stuffed koosa (summer squash, stuffed with rice, ground lamb, and spices) with yogurt sauce! For an appetizer the eggplant napoleon is also delicious. A big meal for two will run you about $40.
For Arabic sweets, Laziza in Astoria (Queens.) Anyone here a fan of kinafeh? They have it there and when it's fresh it's delish. I think it's $4 a slice, but can't remember for sure.
For street food, Sammy's halal in Jackson Heights (Queens) is legendary. His cart is on the intersection of 73rd street and broadway. The lamb gyro with rice platter (my fave) is, I think $6. He often throws in a free soda if you're ordering more than one. He won food vendor of the year a couple of years ago at the Vendy awards.
For anyone who is a Thai food fan, you have to check out Sripraphai in Woodside (Queens.) If you love the super spicy, very authentic stuff, this is where you can get it. Dinner for two, $20-30 depending on how big your stomach is.
I really like the Afghani restaurant Bamiyan in Manhattan for their wide selection. Not sure if they use halal meat. Afghan Kebab House (several locations throughout the city) has a shorter menu but is also very, very good and I'm pretty sure they do use halal meat. Bamiyan is slightly more expensive--probably about $35-50 for two, while at Afghan Kebab House the range would be more like $20-35 depending on how much you eat.
For Belgian treats (they have a nice moules frites/mussels with french fries, as well as a terrific brunch menu with awesome waffles), La Petite Abeille has I think two or three locations in the city. I've found their location in the east twenties to be most reliable. About $20/person. Definitely not halal.
Just had some really good Pakistani food in Jersey City a couple months ago at a little hole-in-the-wall but now I can't remember the name of the place. I'll try to find out and post it when I do. They had really good pickle chicken especially.
