I tried to get that door buster TV sale at best buy. Two friends volunteered to get in line early enough and they did but could not get their hands on that TV.

The bull market started March 2009. The proverbial Gucci sold at 675 then. It was probably selling at 1800 at the start of 2014. I agree. With the CAPE at 27.5, and the median at 16, the path of least resistance appears to be Southie.
Right on cue, as stated in post 2, oil stocks rebounded today. BP and XOM were up circa 2.5 pct. Are these stocks the Gucci of December 2014?
Time will tell - as the pundints would say.

I know…pretty soon you’ll have to be rich to have clothes to wear. in other words, clearly, the poorer are likely to increase

Isn’t inflation pretty much under control? Central banks are lowering interest rates all over the place. The German 10 yr bonds (bunds?) are at what 0.7 pct?

The problem with the monetary model is that the central banks around the world must aim to keep inflation between 1%-2%, and only temporarily adjust interest rates to keep inflation as close as possible to this range. Poverty and inflation are thus inevitable

The currency that’s “crashing” is the Russian ruble. It has depreciated by over 60% in one year. And with oil prices on the decline and plummeting foreign investment in Russia, its prospects appear grim.
Meanwhile, the gold price these days is hovering around $1200 per ounce, down from a peak of over $1800 in 2011. The gold bubble burst a while ago.

I will take any 50 inch LED TV for 200 dollars. They did have those but they gave coupons to some people at the front of the line for door buster items therefore there was stampede. They were letting a few people at a time into the store.
