Dushwari...
What world do you live in...are you honestly trying to suggest that being violent and harmful is strictly a male characteristic?...and are trying to suggest that for marriage to work and for the woman to be happy it is all down to the man?...
Seriously you need to exit your little bubble and realise that in the real world as shocking as it may be to you women can infact be wrong...
I do sociology and have had to listen to enough feminist nonsense already...please dont put me through more...
Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
How about we focus on the question asked Just curious where are the best places to get married if you are a man as in pay the least % and are there actually any places worse than the UK in terms of divorce settlements?...
Also a religious question...in Islam if you have a talaq what is the woman entitled to?... Let not turn this in to a men vs women debate.
NBN the place you are most likely to get married at is where ur family lives or where ur wife's family lives. So just pick urself a russain bride to avoid the odd request of going to moscow to say ur vows.
In islam if the husband initiated the divorce the wife keeps her haq mehr, her belongings plus any gifts her husband may have given her during the course of their marraige. If she initiates the divorce she is not entitled anything other than her own belongings I believe. What if she has already spent her haq mehr though? Is she still obligated to return it? I don't think she should be since it was her right to receive the amount as his wife not for being his wife for life.
Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
best place to get divorced as a man, any backward ass country like saudi arabia and afghanistan. I am not familiar with the laws in sub saharan africa, but have a suspicion that that area and mongolia etc probably are not too bad either.
Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
I think the question isn't 'What is the best place to get married in' but it sounds like it is 'What is the best place to get divorced in'. :-)
Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
You have to look at the practicies and beleifs of the society...ie., do the kids tend to go to the moms or to the dads. Muslim countries tend to give the children to the dad, christian/western countries tend to give the children to the mom. The custodial parent needs the financial support of the other parent to maintain the lifestyle that the children are accustomed to. What are the practices for divorcing a wife who has given up any chance of a career to raise the ex-husbands children? This alone should entitle her to something of the ex-husbands earnings until she re-marries so that she can enable herself to earn a living on her own - something she gave up in order to raise the ex-husbands children. THese of course are very general observations....

you began your argument with the wrong premise. In Pakistan, the number of cases where the children went to the dad are less than 5 percent. The only times the father gets the children is when the mother has a poor character and it is proven in court.

hmmm. how does it work? If ur marraige certificate is from Russia, russain laws will apply in case of a divorce no matter where you are getting divorced? have no idea.
Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
i will refrain from saying what you said -
each and everyone person can be nonsense or not making sense, but to call others that when you are incapable fo really understanding what they are saying is a backward.
i did not say at all that all men are violent and harmful or that it is limited to men as characteristics.
you are generalizing that i said this for everybody.
&
i am sorry, but if you are not comfortable doing what you do - s o c i o l o g y,
then that is your head ache.
divorcing is not some prized sports for which you are looking an ideal situation.
this is one of those wrecking of all things that calls for person- and situation-specific handling of the miserable situation.
yes, if your goal is monetary and emotional upper hand, in rigging the other party of all human trust and shocking betrayal, then yes, people can look for that ideal geography.

Re: Best country to get a divorce if you are a man?...
practices of the societies are by and large,
ignorant of women's collateral damage and more often condone damages doen to women, even in case of taking children away from her.
alimony and child support is not at all ever a compensation, in case of true women who wished for marriages to work.
of course, there are women and men who are clearly not able to keep kids safe and provide for them well.
