so… philips avent, tommee tippee, dr browns, born free, playtex, ??
we’ve been using the playtex ones with disposable liners but the sterilization is a pain. i’m looking into buying a bottle steriliser but while i’m at it, i’m wondering if one brand is better than the others? also the disposable playtex liners can add up cost wise and you need a new one each feed. ifi run out, baby ain’t getting any food until we get new liners.
I got it for my second baby( I boiled bottles the old fashioned way with the first but he was mostly nursed so it wasn't really a bother) . But really, the doctor said all that was needed was to put the bottles into the dishwasher. I suck to the sterlizer for a few months and when baby was older started putting the bottles in the dishwasher (after rissing them). What I did was to buy 10 bottles and run the dishwasher twice a day. What also helped was a warm water thermos at night with bottles ready by our bedside.
I have the Born Free glass bottles and have had no issues. I think Avent is pretty standard. Tommie Tippee is good also, especially because it does a good job mimicing the breast shape. Dr. Brown are popular these days.
SGC you must get tommie tippiee ! I've been using it since my son was two weeks old ..... one - two bottles of pumped milk a day and we've had no trouble with him getting confused between the breast and the bottle. If you are planning on breastfeeding and bottle feeding there really is no better substitute.
But even if you're exclusively forumula feeding I love the way the bottles are designed, they're easy to clean and have lots of options for nipples ..... ie slow flow, medium, variable to you can adjust it as your baby grows.
As for sterilizing by doctor said its perfectly fine to put the bottles in the dishwasher....he suggested we sterilize for the first three months and then said that is fine to wash the bottles as you would other dishes... but check with your baby's doctor
Dr.brown all the way!!!! Yes have 2 additional pieces to clean but if u have enough bottles at hand its not an issue..... Get their sterilizer too... Though i had one by avent and i just used that. Its the nipple thats the worst....baby has its own choice.... I remember i had loads of avent bottles ...they only come in wide neck.... Midget hated them... He only likes the standard nipples... So buy slow... If babe likes it... Add to the collection....Also... Bfeeding friends would use nipples that resembled their own so baby would adjust back and forth easily.... So if u plan on bfeeding later on.... Do look into those bottles too... Tommee tippee makes them
IMO it all comes down to what your baby likes.I got quite afew brands before my daughter settled with the Dr Brown's bottles. So dont stock up on the bottles and see what your baby likes.
avent all the way easy 2 wash n sterlize i m using its sterlizer as well its v easy 6 bottles a day..... i have heard good reviews for tommee tippe as well especially 4 breast feeding babies............ dr brown always heard difficult 2 wash n sterlize :)
I am using Dr. Brown and Avent both. Dr. Brown is good but the cleaning is a headache. Avent, I change nipple from stage 1 to 2. Stage one was fine but I feel like when I changed it from stage two it started leaking. I change Dr. Brown's nipples too, I have no leaking issues with that. If you are okay with cleaning all the part (which I hate, and end up using Avent), I would say Dr. Brown is good.
Its mostly that he's drinking too fast and gulping a lot of air which leads to burping issues, even though he has the slow flow nipples. The TT nipple kept collapsing as he fed yesterday. Has that happened with your LO, Ramsha? We will try the Born Free bottle today and see how he does.

sometimes when he's really hungry, and mostly at the begining when he was getting used to it. It stopped about the third day and we were only giving him one bottle a day.
