benefits and gone to dubai

So someone I know very well have all moved to Dubai. Husband had a business proposal there and they been planning for last 5 years.

They left in August

She told me to check her mails rtf .And to check her bank statements or anything open it up and to inform her of anything odd

So she’s still receiving tax credits and benefits .

What do I say. She’s religious as well which is odd .I know you should never judge someone but I didn’t expect from her. So is this haram. Religiously. Or just wrong in law .And what do I say to her.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

mind your own biz?

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

Heck no. I wouldnt do that if i were you. Just be straight forward and deny it. You shouldnt share password with yr sibling yet its only an acquaintance.

[addendum]
Ok wait, you meant her mail not email right.. sorry the IT mind is so unidrectional..

Anywaz, i think mail checking is ok. As long as you dont open it :chai:

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

That suddenly took an interesting turn!!!

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

Did she ask yo to open letter?

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

I agree with Mrs. Saieen, if I were you, I wouldn't even delve into it. This might become a long term thing, if you do it for her now, she might keep asking you to check up on her bank statements, her bank related issues to see if she's receiving tax credits - child benefits etc whilst on leave. As far as I reckon, this is only receivable until you are on leave, not if you have permanently resettled out of England or United Kingdom; so this could be illegal. I would suggest you stay out of this and let her sort it herself. Religion or being under the garb or facade of religion has got nothing to do with human nature, if a person is supposed to be a certain way, they will act the way they want to. It is their decision to move to Dubai, let her handle it.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

I am confused. Are you asking about the tax credit and benefits she is receiving or checking her mail?

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

She asked me to open it and check her mail because she said she checkednonline banking and thought someone had taken money out. So as I was checking I noticed all payments from child tax credits .
She is permanent resettled there now. So she says

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

I would say don't do anything else, if she gets into trouble for it, you can be wrapped up into it as well.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

here in Canada, there is a snitch line where you can report someone anonymously.

benefits and gone to dubai

Have they kept their residence here? Seems like benefits abuse is everywhere. I wouldnt know what to do depends how close you guys are

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

Please don't assume and judge. Maybe it's as simple as her forgetting to cancel it. I would keep quiet or remind her in a friendly manner.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

I think what she's doing is wrong but there could be a simple explanation as Theorist suggested so best not to make assumptions.

Many people do claim benefits if they live abroad which is illegal, as for the religious side I'm not to sure but I'm sure it can't be right.

But as far as checking mail and bank statements I would tell her you are not comfortable doing this as it contains private personal info. I for one certainly wouldn't be comfortable doing it for someone.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

it's none of your business. simple as that

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

^ it is if she asked you to check her mail and such. i would either ask her about it or report it anonymously.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

yes, she asked for her mail to be opened etc and checked. BUT that doesn’t mean it gives nadz123 the option of judging the lady for whatever she does in her life. OP can just open the mail, and leave it at that … it is not her place to contemplate what to do with other peoples mail. and it certainly doesnt give her the right to ask about it cuz its none of her business

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

Yes ! It's wrong and religion wise too. People like these put a burden on society and the ones who don't do so bear the brunt of it in form of reduced benefits.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

If you pray five times a day, do your roza and haj, all iz vell. To steal from the infidel Queen of England is sawab.

No need to take up another battle in Middle East. Mind your own business.

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

Well obviously she can't have left the UK completely as she has a UK address and a UK bank account. And you can't get tax credits until you can prove your income so if it's coming from overseas then HMRC will know anyway. They've only left around three months ago - how are you to know that they don't intend to inform HMRC that they no longer reside in the UK once they know that they're definitely staying in Dubai?

Re: benefits and gone to dubai

You need to inform her that she is still receiving tax credits and benefit. Ask her to report to HMRC that will stop that odd thing in statement. :hmmm:
