Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Yes they did. Look at all the protest, polls and agitations. They want Benazir back in power.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Hes bringing her back because he has absolutely no support from the ppl, which she enjoys... and man of the plan saying that does not make me a BB supporter...

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

If Musharraf was desperate, he would declare emergency martial law rather give in to people's demand. He is giving up his post...gearing up for election. Isn't that what we want?

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

No, because imposing a martial law is apney payoon pey kulhari marna... hes just trying to tone down the ppl and use BB to gain some acceptance, but I hope BBs fame turns to disaster for him.. P.S. I just dont want him to give up his 'post' I want him to leave stick to his promises, make like a trea and leave! 8 years is more than enough!

Baitullah Mehsud says his bombers are waiting for Benazir Bhutto](http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2007\10\05\story_5-10-2007_pg1_6)

ISLAMABAD: Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud has threatened suicide attacks against PPP Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto, saying his bombers are waiting in the wings to “welcome” her when she returns, FATA Senator Saleh Shah told Daily Times on Thursday. Shah is a close friend of Mehsud and is currently trying to broker a deal between the Mehsuds and the government to secure the release of around 250 abducted soldiers. “My men will welcome Bhutto on her return. We don’t accept President General Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto because they only protect the US interest and see things through its glasses. They’re only acceptable if they wear the Pakistani glasses,” Shah quoted Baitullah as saying. He said that Mehsud, who killed three soldiers out of the hostages and has threatened more executions, had a following of 35,000 highly trained and organised fighters, including a ‘suicide squad’. Shah said he was not optimistic about succeeding in negotiations for the release of the hostage soldiers. He said Baitullah had asked the government to release 30 of his men, but that was difficult because some of them were being tried in courts. “When I tell Mehsud that his men are in legal custody, he asks what bars Gen Musharraf from going above the law and releasing his men when the president can violate the law and the constitution for his re-election,” Saleh said. azaz syed

I kinda find the headline morbidly funny..wonder what would be going through BB’s mind. She only asked for a Bullerproof vehicle.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

I am really disappointed with this episode. Its the height of selfishness on part of Musharraf/Benazir.

But as a nation we deserve leaders like NS and BB because we havent done enough. So called pillars of the nation (youth) has not done what was expected of it.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

saby, the syshtem WORKS!!!!

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

If BB really cares for democarcy, she should resign and give a run to Musharraf.

If Mushy is sincere enough and he shouldnt have eaten his own words and didnt let BB back without facing charges.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

NRO has just been signed by President Musharraf.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

I am very disappointed by Musharraf signing the ordinance...

For his own gain...he has effectively bulldozed all morales!

PS: I guess...there will be chaos & anarchy from now on for sometime to come...opponents will haunt this duo and their cronies...

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

BB had 3 main demands for a deal with Musharraf.

  1. Indemnity over corruption cases.
  2. Lifting 3rd time bar on PM.
  3. Abolishing article 58-2 B i.e. Presidential powers to dismiss govt/assemblies.

The government has only conceded ground on point 1, while the others have been left on the back burner or fudged.

The 3rd time bar on PM will only be lifted if her party gets a majority in the elections.

President Musharraf has apparently given a "verbal promise" to the UK/USA that he won't exercise 58-2B to dismiss any govt.

I don't see her party ever getting even a simple majority in the elections. Even if she did become PM, Musharraf could always use 58-2B to dismiss her govt in the future stating "changed circumstances" etc. :)

So in the end all BB has got for going along with the whole Musharraf project is dropping of her cases.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Perhaps this is a new beginning in Pakistani politics.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

All 3 of them...one or the other way...are self-exiled...

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

58-2b is pretty laughable...how a president can send the whole assembly home which has elected him...lol...

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

It will be these assemblies that will be electing him - not the next ones that we are talking about.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

But then his back side is not able to get any more danda from the masters.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

I have yet to see public demonstrations demanding BB/NS as PM, have you seen?

Pinning corruption, desperation, immorality, lawlessness of your beloved leader on others is not going to do you any good, you should be able to condemn the wrong actions whoever does it. Your justifications of illegal/corrupt/deslpicable actions only make you count among likes of BB/NS supporters.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

That’s what i like to see - a positive attitude.

God Bless pakistan. God Bless Presidnet Musharaf. God Bless the Free Judiciary. :jhanda:

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

yes, the new beginning of an era, where the competition will be "who is more corrupt, can anyone beat Musharraf, BB or NS".
