Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready
you know what else surprises me, why are the people of their parties still supporting these corrupt former leaders? does it mean that they agree with everything that these people did and want them back in power. that the paties dont have a checks and balances system within them?
The problem with nation overall is that they are still stuck in personality-love... like Altaf, Bibi, NS etc. Election commission should enforce elections within political parties too, even though it may sound like interfering in party affairs but that is what we need alongwith '2 term PM`ship' rule.

How can we trust political parties that refuse to kick out their corrupt leaders.

Govt take firm stand, prove corruption in courts instead of making deals, it will have a far reaching effect.
Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready
Parties are family owned business so no one can dare tell BB what is wrong or right. Same for Nawaz and ML. Musharaf had the oportunity to change all this by not bowing down to these people. But, he lost credibility and supprt of the people by by using hard hand with CJ and the press. His too much supprt to US also has alienated him the common Pakistani. In the end, all would have been fine if he didn't mess with CJ.
Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready
Musharraf was/is wrong in this area, this is probably my biggest disappointment from him. I am also disappointed that ppl who talk about democracy are so lame. i mean forget BB and Nawaz. all their chailay chamchay in their parties... how can they say they will be good for teh country if they cant just get rid of these ppl. I believe aitezaz was the only one who was building the momentum to gain such support, and he was quashed big time.
I dont trust nawaz, BB or altaf, and I dont trust the leadership of theiir parties because they have done zilch to get rid of these guys. they kow thast teh name that sells and they will propr them up and ride theri coattails back in office. thast what it is.
I was thinking about going to Pakistan but today i feel really disappointed and may end up cancelling my plans. Only hope I have is some how people just pick independent candidate in the up coming election and none of these bastiches get elected. I wish I could file nomination papers for a dog against each of these parties. It is a long shot though but dog might win!

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready
Mr bitterness gives his views on the NRO.
NRO to be challenged in court: Aitzaz
LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Aitzaz Ahsan told a private TV channel on Wednesday that the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) would be challenged in court on account of discrimination since it was meant to benefit a certain segment of society only. Speaking on Geo television’s “Capital Talk” programme, Ahsan said the government’s plan was to create an impression with the NRO that the withdrawal of cases against Benazir Bhutto was the only issue between her and the government. “I strongly feel that the PPP leadership will never give its consent to the NRO,” he said. He said national reconciliation could not be achieved through ordinances, and that the government would have to change its attitude before even thinking of any sort of reconciliation

**APDM’s leadership offered to BB by NS. **
NS’s special envoy Ghaus Ali Shah met with BB and conveyed the message that if BB agrees to resign, she can become the chairperson of APDM and NS’s will make MMA to support her too …complete story
Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready
Musharraf for past 8 years gave Pakistanis the opportunity to break away from these politicians. They did not and continue to support these individuals and wanted them back. Now deal with it.
