Belly piercings do not hurt - just grab the skin above the belly hole and pinch.. you can't even feel anything!!
I think each to their own.... if you want to have your belly or other things pierced, do it. It's your body, and we all go to our own grave. Personally, i don't think it's an appropriate "bridal" thing to do; to have it on show..... it's just a little weird... it would send out a very strange message i think...
