If you want to do it for yourself, then go for it.. You don't HAVE to wear revealing clothes. I used to have one and I didn't parade around showing off my stomach. I also have a tattoo that no one can see, but I got it done for myself - not for anyone else to see.
I think the belly button piercing fad started with Britney Spears.
I only know of one desi girl...my cousin who has her belly button pierced. She has three kids, but you'd never guess it cuz she works out and is slim. I think that if you're gonna get a belly button piercing...you need to maintain a certain kind of belly for it...it doesn't look attractive if you've got an out of shape tummy...even if the only one to ever see it is your spouse.
As to why some people believe that those who get it done are not "good girls/women"....it's mainly because they assume that you wouldn't get it done if you're not going to show it off more openly. But that doesn't have to be the case. Provided you stay within Islamic limits in terms of displaying......I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Good girls dont wear tight clothing, sleeveless, capris, have boyfriends, date, wear too much makeup, etc etc etc either. And all of that is done to actually attract the opposite sex.
For my case, I liked the way it looked and still do. No one gets to see it so no one knows I even have one.
Belly piercing is still relevant? That's so late 1990s, seems like a thing of a rebellious wannabe cool teenager, even Brittany's a grown up woman now lol.
I think its shexy, i'd get it to make sure i keep my tummy in shape too
only think im worried about is the hole getting messed up when i get pregnant in the future, i've heard terrible stories :(
I find these belly button chains to be so pretty! This is an example although the design is a bit tacky but you get the gist:
I have something like this but it’s attached to a thin chain, kind of like this but a lot thinner. I think it looks so pretty, esp. if worn under a sari blouse:
I was just about to ask..whats the point of a bellybutton..when i remembered it's how babies get their nutrients and food when still in uterus.....d'Oh.
