belly button piercing..

why is it not considered as something good… still a majority of people think, its not a good thing to be done.. I like it… but I have a fear of what will people think (ones who will come to know.. like the one who does it, may it be a woman, like my friends whom I’ll let know..etc etc) so why why people think its not something “good women” do!!

:frowning:

Re: belly button piercing..

no way... i was thinking the EXACT same thing the other day... and i wanted to start a thread about it too! haha...
anyways, i think its because most people assume that if you have a belly button piercing then you are someone who wears a bikini or revealing clothes. why else would you get a belly piercing? belly piercings need "breathing room" in order to heal properly, and if you are someone who always has their belly covered, then a belly button piercing isnt a good idea. (just a personal opinion)

Re: belly button piercing..

:hmmm: but it’s not like that!
I mean, it’s not like if I wish to get it done, I will wear the revealing clothes.. you do something for your own, sometimes!!

Re: belly button piercing..

true, just to make yourself happy, if you look good with it, its defenitely can help boost your self esteem (even tho nobody else is seeing it)

Re: belly button piercing..

I got one at the age of 16, though I haven't worn anything in it for a while, I'll be re-piercing it soon. OF COURSE I don't wear revealing clothes and I got it done via a lady in a private shop where no one could see me. It was actually a way to motivate me to lose the last 15 lb. and it was my "reward" when I reached my goal. My mom knew (she wasn't happy but knew I wasn't going around wearing small tops to show it off or anything dumb like that), Dad did not know, ahem.

And as for my fiance, he finds it SEXEH so I plan on keeping it until I grow tired of it.

Re: belly button piercing..

Whowwwwwwww… :sadiyah:

for men, i think.. for women, piercing is allowed :konfused:

Re: belly button piercing..

I'm not sure when this fad started (anyone?) but it's certainly not going away any time soon. Sometimes I see belly rings and think they're cute, that they might look good, but I don't showoff my belly and I don't spend much time staring at it myself either. Bit of a waste but sometimes it is tempting.

Re: belly button piercing..

It just doesn’t sound right! Esp when one would be covering it all the time. Imagine the risks of infection one can carry… :bummer:

Re: belly button piercing..

having a belly button itself is bad enough if you ask me.. i wish i didnt have it :\

Re: belly button piercing..

If you want to do it for yourself, then go for it.. You don't HAVE to wear revealing clothes. I used to have one and I didn't parade around showing off my stomach. I also have a tattoo that no one can see, but I got it done for myself - not for anyone else to see.

I think the belly button piercing fad started with Britney Spears.

Re: belly button piercing..

IMO, rings looks really horrible. It's the studs or belly chains that look really pretty!

And once it's healed, there isn't any risk of infection. It's just like any other piercing, IMO.
