bellies

i have a belly, not anymore really, it was puppy fat and now its all not firm. Ive tried sit ups and exercise but Ifeel like imthe mother of 78.

any help

note: its not fat, so no point dieting. Its the belly that needs to go. how can i prance around in front my mirror - in underthingies, when i have a belly like this. please, think of greater goods and help me :=p

You proabaly just need to tone it up a bit.

I thought sit ups were the best thing to tone your stomach.

Try clenshing your tummy for 10 seconds at a time. Do this about 10 times a few times a day. This is discrete so you can do it anywhere at anytime without anyone realising that you are doing this.

heres one that always killed me but it works...

lay flat on your back and bring your legs up straight (so that you're in an "L" position). slowly lower your legs to the floor so that your feet almost but not quite touch. slowly bring your legs back up. repeat at least 10 times. always make sure your back remains flat to the floor.

mama..iv been doing those for the past week and oh my goodness...they nearly killed me! my stomach was hurting for 3 days everytime i laughed, tried to sit down... but now iv done so many that the pain has gone.

i just want a flat flat stomach...i do about 30 to 40 a day plus normal stomach crunches sit up things.

hiccup, i dont know if u do this already, but here goes:

  • make a habit of sitting up straight, it holding yr stomach in (not too much though)

  • sit ups/stomach crunches r BEST for flabby tummies

  • the other thing that has really helped me, is doing 10 minutes a day on an excercise bike,

  • IT REALLY HELPS* but remember to sit up straight on the bike, only then its effective for
    the stomach

& in no time u will be doing the 'grease lightening' moves in front of yr mirror!!!

Mamaof3, that is a good pilates move. Hiccup, try pilates ... all these moves to tone up your stomach actually work if you keep at it. Various stomach crunches like the one Mama has described are the best thing to do if you want to get rid of the flab and strengthen your abs and tummy muscles.

Well make your mind accept that belly. Instead of trying to get rid of it, try to get good point about it. Like the belly make you look good when you sit on a sofa, etc.

This way you may not get what you want but you will feel happy and satisfied…

Mamaof3 this move kills my back. My back ALWAYS arches and I can't carry on with them :( How do u keep ur back stuck to the ground?

i know...its a real killer lol! As soon as your back starts to come off the floor, raise your legs just a little until you're able to push your back firmly into the floor. Note the height at which your back starts to come up and only go that far each time. After a day or two of sticking to that height, try an inch or two lower and see if you can keep your back on the floor.

its the most important part of the exercise to keep your back flat...if you do it as above, you'll get better and better at it and your legs will be able to go lower and lower as the days go by... although I dont envy you the pain of getting there! Its been longer than I'd care to admit since i've done these durn things!

whoa.. just reading about this exercise makes me tired.. i think i have lost some weight just be reading hehe .. seriously, it takes a lot of dedications but its worth it.. i haven't done it myself (due to lack of dedication) but keep it up guys..

None of these exercises will work in 2 weeks. Plan on continuing them for over 2 months and on a regular basis.

I was working out on a treadmill at the gym couple of days ago and had an uninterrupted view of my butt for an hour. :D It isn't a fat butt but it’s a desi butt. Moral of the story is never exercise in front of the mirror!

Hmmm

Well I just took belly into account. Having a belly is not something you must takeon your brain. Just try to find some good things about having a belly, do little walks and increase the covered distance time by time. But don't think you looks odd when having a belly.

However if the belly initiastes some pain as in your case, then yu must consult some good physician as soon as possible.

Having poor diets and stupid exercises just to get rid of belly seems awkward to me. Just try to eat good meals (by good I mean in nutrition) in reasonable quantities. Start walking from very little in the beginning and increasing the distance by time. No need to go out for that as well. You can start walking in your house. If walking will not even help you much in decreasing your belly, it will still help in keeping balance in all parts of your body. So it is always the best exercise.

When you feel easy in covering 4 or even more kilometers by walking without feeling tired or whatever, (by this time you must feel more strength in your body) then start some simple exercises as well if you are still serious in getting rid of your belly.

If you have a belly and some sort of pain too. Always consult a good physisian for the pain and only start walking upon his advise.

If you follow some plans for that and get some benefits from it. keep sharing your experience here as well.

All those crunches and stomach excercises wont work unless you're doing some cardio. So do cardio for 20 minutes and then do the abdominals - do it daily - you will see a difference.

I’ve been doing intense cardio alone for a few months now and I see absolutely no difference. I need to start doing some crunches. :bummer: I hate, seriously am disgusted with my stomach.

lol same here Mehnaz…i am under weight with low BMI which is not good itself…but i still have a belly which is truly :nook: :mad: As Catty said it will only work if you are doing crunches right after cardio. And if you really wanna see good results you must do this every freaking day. Beside doing crunches, those heavy crunch machine is amazing. I started seeing difference in my mid section right after few weeks…but i didn’t see any difference in my lower belly as i was not doing crunches…just hate them.

I hate crunches too. I can only seem to do them in a class setting. If I have to do them on my own, I just look at my belly and can't be bothered. :(
