Re: Being Buried Alive
Why are you guys so rude? This is a serious question. I am not asking you advice on how to get over this. I was simply asking if this was possible. Geez. Is it mandatory to make a joke about every issue? Please get over yourselves.
yea exactly phobia=mind playing games usually those people suffer from phobias who have a lavish lifestyle and no worries of life. Phobia's usually overtake when a person is sure he would be unable to escape from a given situation. My advice to Phobiacs is cross the bridge when u come to it.Stop crossing it now cause there aint no bridge right now to cross.
No one said I had a phobia. Stop making assumptions.

Not sure... All I am asking is if it is possible. I don't know the answer to this question, that is why I asked. Simple.

lol u must be kidding.where did i said u had phobia???

the ones u are talking about are not coma patients.there are different sorts of comas and brain injuries.the one u talking about are on life support units or ventilators whose heart and lungs cant support the breathing and blood flow required to maintain life.in that case when u put them off the machine they are freed.

You just posted the criteria of phobias on this thread without any reason?

well whatever the reason by maybe its for public awareness but how come it shows that i said u have phobia.lol i never made any of such statement.
Re: Being Buried Alive
Desi- theoretically anything's possible, but waking up after burial is VERY VERY unlikely. Mostly because of all the other reasons given here such as even if you were in coma, you'd die of suffocation and won't wake up at all. Also, I know in Pakistan people may be burried hours following death but in most western countries (I'm assuming you're in one) it takes days to complete the paperwork.
I sometimes think drowning would be the worst way to die for me, iA I hope that doesn't happen. Ameen. shudders

I hope your right. I just can't bare the thought of this happening to someone that I care about.
Drowning.... I think everyone should take swimming classes, you never know what sitaution you maybe put into. Sorry if i'm making it worse.
well i know very little about you apart from how annoyed you get when your lunch time is compromised, or when asked to share your cooking. help me out here, are you?
C'mon Queer. Your posts are often witty and funny. But sometimes they can be rude, and this is one of those times.
It's a serious question for her and I don't think it's all that strange. I've heard of other people having a similar fear. I remember learning in an English class that Edgar Allen Poe was obsessed with death and it was the central theme in many of his short stories. During his time, there was a lack of medical knowledge and people were sometimes buried alive. Their bodies were dug up and scratch marks were found on the inside of the the coffin indicating a struggle to get out. He was afraid the same would happen to him.
^Don't know if it's true or if this fear perhaps fueled his writing. He was also a depressed person in general, I think. Anyhow, many people wonder about what happens after death. It's natural.
In this day and age of medical advancement, I doubt if you can be buried alive.
My fears of death are by drowning and death by falling from high place (like airplane in the mid exploding with me in it)
SAME HERE!!!!
