I have spoken directly to the wife and will continue to do so InshaAllah.

Regarding the family the only person was the mother or the father. I rang the mother 7 times in two days but she never replied. My wife actually stated that she will be ignoring you for mentioning that we are having difficulty in front of her siblings.

Weird situation.

did you actually mention something in front of someone other than just the MIL or FIL?
if so, that was not a cool move.
