its pakistan teams’ own fault that india ended up with 157 when it should not have been more than 140-145…their fielding was very relaxed in the first 6 overs…not attacking the ball, not putting indian batsmen under pressure…gave away atleast 10 easy singles…when india ended up with 157 i told my bro they got 10-15 runs more than wht should have been…
about misbah, he sure is a fighter but sadly lacks the finishing punch…2nd time he failed to see pak team through…playing that shot when there were 3 more balls to come after that…really makes you think what was he thinking trying to be cute at a time when match was on the line…
anyways…india were the better team today n they won…congratz to them and better luck for pakistan next time. :k:
i was very dissappointed though. this is the 2nd time he did that...first match against india they needed only 1 run in 2 bowls..he couldnt do that...now they only needed six runs in four bowls and he played tht stupid shot...the idea is to win and not just come close...i am not a cricket fanatic like most of you but it really hurts losing to india
:(
He was playing with a tail-ender, had our "specialists" saved their wickets he wouldn't have been in this position (trying to not expose tailender and hence ending the game earlier).
In that harbhajan over, he refused to take the single and face harbhajan's bowling. He had the confidence he will hit him for more sixes. It takes guts to do that, specially in the final when every run counts.

And when he hit a six on the next ball, that's when my heart started pounding and I started thinking again about the "other" possibility. That's when I thought, this guy really believes he can change the outcome of the match (I did not watch the tied league match).
Though, just 2 instances is too little evidence to pass a judgement, what I think is that Misbah is not the kind of guy who can perform under pressure, others might disagree. On both the occassions, he brought Pakistan back into the game from the brink of an almost certain loss (like 90-10), when there was no hope left. He performs his best when his back is against the wall, but the moment he sees that the destination is very close, he gets conscious and the pressure clouds his judgement.
If I am not wrong, on the last ball he kneeled down on the ground in agony at the non striker's end after getting caught; I will not forget that image. You cant but feel for this guy. He was the man who could have been the king.

Dont comment on getting to the final. Beating Australia comfortably in the process..... I suggest you stick you Ludo.
only idiots can fault misbah. you cant make the boundary each time, and the guy cant take singles else he'll expose the tailender. sharma was bowling wayy outside the off stump, hard to hit him except for singles unless you try to be creative.
if you talk about younus khan, akmal, hafeez.. sure they were all at fault. Misbah for the second time in the tourney, made a game out of nothing
Equally I think it's to do with a lack of experience at this level. Someone like Miandad or Inzi would not have shown their intentions so early to the bowler esp. with 4 balls remaining, that comes from experience. They would have waited for the bad ball (which was only a matter of time with Joginder who seemed nervous and quite naturally so esp. after being hit for a six) to hit a boundary. The way Misbah was standing out of his crease (he seemed to be itching to finish the game off) and positioned himself, that over-ambitious flick was always on the cards and he just missed a trick there. If he had stayed back in his crease he would probably have played straight.
Anyways Misbah I am sure will learn from this experience and will be better for it
i think he waited for the bad ball in the last match, and he didnt get it. so that mustve been on the back of his mind.
as for telegraphing his intentions early, j sharma is such a one-trick pony. he bowled one ball throughout the match, way outside off stump, and i saw misbah play him like that before. even this time, j sharma did not change the ball he bowled, and misbah connected. it was just a mis-hit.
^ Incorrect. ICC plan to stage twenty-20 every two years (cf. Champions Trophy). The next twenty-20 Cup I believe is in England in 2009. The good thing is that now teams have more than one world cup to look forward to
Thankz God itz 2 yrz lol, i cant wait 4 yrz and by then i will be 19 yrz old so itz okay if it iz in 2 yrz cause den i will still remain a chochi chi bachi
Misbah played his best. No point criticizing. The game's over. Still, I'd say he's the best talent to come up unlike Salman Butt. Even Imran Nazir didn't play according to my expectations.
