Re: Before the world takes on Misbah…
Exactly my point…when you are with a tail-ender and you have only 4 balls to go and you know there is no more wickets left…You DO NOT play that kind of shots. If that same shot had been a boundary and we had won the cup maybe I would have not thought on the same lines but than how do you correct your mistakes…Misbah himself knew he could not take 1 run when there were 2 balls left from the previous match…he could not finish the previous match after getting so close and he did the same this time. I think he thought of finishing it this time but the shot selection was not right…I don’t think he needed that shot at that very moment…It should have been a straight six or something. Anyway I see it pure luck for India they won the match and I am still proud the way Misbah and our team played, fought back. After all Allah :swt: jo kartay hain wo he bayhter hota hai. ![]()
Re: Before the world takes on Misbah...
And when he hit a six on the next ball, that's when my heart started pounding and I started thinking again about the "other" possibility. That's when I thought, this guy really believes he can change the outcome of the match (I did not watch the tied league match).
Though, just 2 instances is too little evidence to pass a judgement, what I think is that Misbah is not the kind of guy who can perform under pressure, others might disagree. On both the occassions, he brought Pakistan back into the game from the brink of an almost certain loss (like 90-10), when there was no hope left. *He performs his best when his back is against the wall, but the moment he sees that the destination is very close, he gets conscious and the pressure clouds his judgement. *
If I am not wrong, on the last ball he kneeled down on the ground in agony at the non striker's end after getting caught; I will not forget that image. You cant but feel for this guy. He was the man who could have been the king.
I agree 100%
Re: Before the world takes on Misbah...
*Teaser, we can talk all we want, only one man was present at the ground facing the last 4 overs against India in a final. Let me present you with this beautiful quote once again:
**"Only heroes ever get to (gloriously) fail at the final hurdle - because they take up the challenge, and fight to the bitter end. Only cowards ever get to say they never failed - because they never tried in the first place, and instead just sit on the sidelines berating those who DID try."
Re: Before the world takes on Misbah...
Pepsi's already taken to Misbah- He just got awarded 1 million rupees

game bhai I agree with you and I am not blaming Misbah but I think due to the fact Misbah has not played much internation cricket all I am saying he is not a finisher or maybe I should say he didn't know how to finish after taking out all the preasure as a "corner tiger".
Re: Before the world takes on Misbah...

Maybe we can come up with something for Tendulkar, because God knows how many times he has choked in crunch situations! Atleast Misbah missed it by five runs; Tenchoker has built an entire career upon personal records and running away like a girl in pressure situations. He falls into the "coward" category in the beautiful quote that I have posted :o .
