Ameen. Giving up on Backbiting is going to prove to be a bit of a challenge . Get ready for it ! So many people around us just love gossiping and they dont realize it also comes under the same category as backbiting. So if you dont do it yourself to request others to not do it , you might get thrown out of the social circles . Bus that is the only challenge 
But Allah helps immensely when we set foot to the right path. I avoid it too , when i have to say something negative about a person I question myself as well if i will be able to say the exact same thing to that person on their face? If the answer is yes , then i just say it .
