Frankly speaking, it is difficult to comment on this topic. Arguments from both sides appear at first glance to be coherent, legitimate and fairly convincing ones but upon further examination, one can easily find a number of flaws in arguments from both sides to such an extent that one can not take the argument nor its conclusion from each side seriously. For instance, a blind person can not be granted a driving license but someone with weak eyesight and spectacles on can surely be granted a driving license. Now whether, he keeps his spectacles on all the time while driving is purely a different topic and no one can guarantee it. Same applies to chuckers too. These chuckers are not "totally blind" but they have "weak eyesight" and ICC is allowing them to bowl only if their "spectacles" are on (within 15 degrees limit).
However, here comes a million dollar question. Who would guarantee that the wicket taking ball was within the permissible limits? No one and i guess that is where this whole chucking issue becomes too messy. Therefore, the only solution is that "A CHUCKER WILL ALWAYS BE A CHUCKER" and such bowlers should not be allowed to play cricket at international level. It may sound rude but it is fair to all those who bowl legal deliveries plus it is fair to batsmen too. It is not about shoaib, murli or habhajan. This principle should be followed as a rule and I guarantee you guys that very soon ICC will have to follow it too because 15 degree rule is nothing but a joke.
^ Yeah, lets play cricket without bowlers. I guess we can use machines for this purpose. This, because, according to the ICC study, there are very few, if any, bowlers, whose arm bends less than 2%. Most are between 2-10%. Including all your historic great fast bowlers. Go figure!
main to bolta hun bowling karne pe koi restriction hi na rakho.. Jo jaise ball phek de, Its ok..
Under arm, over arm, arm bending 60 degree to right side, 90 degress to left side. All is fine !!!!!
Waise bhi all the rules are in favor of batsmen. Let this one favor bowlers.
Atleast this will be fair to every team. :D
No, he probably wants to remove the 15% degree rule. That pretty much accounts for most of world's bowlers. I'd hate to watch cricket without any bowlers. So boring. :D
I don't get why 3rd class chullus, who probably have never played "real" cricket in their entire sad and pathetic lives try to point out flaws in professional cricketers, who have been cleared upteenth time by the people (ICC) who actually know something about cricket.
Seriuosly guys, How can you people find the stubborness and energy to bring up same issue again and again and AGAIN? This topic has been beaten to death but thanks to someone it was brought to life and I see not many posts supporting either arguments.
My advise to esteemed indian members, get over Shoaib Akhtar.. sooner rather than later otherwise tomorrow’s defeat will sting in worse possible way.
I will let this topic open for a little while to see if there are going to be any sane posts or not. Good luck to both teams for the match tomorrow.
