Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
MAC is really good for lipsticks. Their eyeshadows are o.k. ... but I'm not a fan of eyeshadow so I wouldn't know. I don't stick to just one makeup brand for everything ... I mix 'n match - foundation and blush by The Body Shop, Mac lipsticks, Maybelline mascara, etc. Clinique is also very good, but I find their colours are more targeted for white/fair people.
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
I don’t use all those products every single day…but they are the products I have in circulation mainly. My little sister loves staying over because she gets to take home all the products I bought on a whim and then decided it’s not suitable for me.
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
Shahreen how did you get rid of those under the skin bumps? if they are hte same asm i ne, they are called comedones. I hate them but dunno how to get rid of them ![]()
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
salaam does this bio/ rosehip oil work? how long does it take to see the effects? i have a few small brown scars on my chin from spots…will it work do u think? bio oil is so expensive though! is it ok for sensitive skin..i dont like using too much stuff on my face coz i usually break out in more spots coz my skin is very sensitive!
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
Hey very nice thread, ok so I have a question for the guppies too, I have never used anything on a regular basis, I used to use Neutrogena facial cleanser and toner, that is when my skin was oily, now it feels dry so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good skin care system. They just open up a bare escentials here. so I was thinking about the Md formulations, also what a really good under eye cream for dark circles and to prevent wrinkles. I get Christina vilmay facials almost every month before that I was doing shanaz but after I heard about the mercury and lead controversy I stopped, even though I loved the gold facial. so anyway please suggest :)
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
This rosehip oil, is there a particular brand or concentration one should purchase? WHat should you pay attention to while buying it?
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
As long as its pure rosehip oil and not a blend of other oils then any brand is fine. It's hard to find (well in the UK it is) but most health food stores sell it. Try to get the organic version if you can.
Devoted2Allah - rosehip oil is ideal sensitive skin....in fact it actually helps desensitise your skin as it has regenerating properties.
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
I stopped using my Eve Lom cleanser as that was the culprit and then had a few regular facials every week untill they had gone/
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
My Holland and Barrat store didnt sell Rosehip oil, niether did the bodyshop, they only had Rose oil. i brought Bio-oil for my sis instead, the woman said it was meant for scars.
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
I bought mine from just an independant health food, not one of the chain ones as they don't seem to sell it.
I wonder if you can buy it online?

Don’t know what to get!
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
The second link isn't selling pure rosehip oil, but a blended oil that only contains 10% rosehip.
The third link is the real deal.
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
will have to try out the rosehip oil ladies!! As I'm ageing as well sigh
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
shall i tell you the best thing for your skin and wrinkles that works from the inside and is also benficial for a whole load of other things…even for promoting great hair???
**black seed **http://www.qarshi.sitekit.net/faq.html](http://www.qarshi.sitekit.net/faq.html)
i know this “uncle” who has been taking quarter tsp black seed every morning with tsp of honey for donkeys years and you should see him he looks so great for his age his skin glows. it doesnt look sagged out or wrinkly…mashAllah. it was reccommended by Prophet Muhammad (peace and mercy of Allah be upon him) and it is stated in a hadith that is is a cure for all things.
**you dont have to have the actual oil which tastes:p you can get the actual seeds (maybe try at your local islamic bookstore) really cheap they taste of nothing! i have started taking them every morning with sum water…they give you a great boost of energy too. you can even get black seed oil capsules too..they are bit more expensive though.i got the oil to use on my hair. **
Re: Beauty products Rants/raves
Hmmm interesting. What actually is black seed though? I might try the capsules if I can get hold of some, it'd be worth taking just for the energy boost alone if it works.
