has anyone tried beauty blender for liquid foundation application? is it better than stippling brush or the flat top brush? and is the original one better than all the dupes that are out there?
Re: beauty blender?
I've tried it. Initially, I was rather skeptical about paying 20 quid for a cute pink sponge, given that I have quite a few different foundation brushes already. I must say though, it was definitely worth it. It doesn't leave lines the way foundation brushes do and can also be used to apply concealer and other products. I usually dampen it a bit before using it and find that it leaves my foundation and concealer looking quite nice.

which one did u get? the original one or dupe sold at drugstores?
Re: beauty blender?
I bought the original one online from Sephora, here:
beautyblender® - beautyblender | Sephora
I’ve tried the dupes as well and have found that there is a definite difference. The dupe didn’t seem any different to me than the normal sponge applicators. It was also more difficult to clean and began to wear out in a couple of weeks. The original though leaves a very nice finish, almost airbrushed, and lasts quite a long time.
Re: beauty blender?
thanks! i was really confused between the 2. the dupes cost so much less, so i was thinking of getting it. but if it’s not the same quality as original then no point in wasting money on the dupe
Re: beauty blender?
I have both the original beauty blender and the Sonia Kashuk dupe from Target. While the original is definitely the standout, I must say the pointed tip on the Sonia Kashuk one really gets into the corners by your nose and eyes, and the quality is pretty good.
I bought the dupe first to see how I would like it vs a traditional foundation brush and once I got the hang of it I moved on to the beauty blender

Re: beauty blender?
Same here. I got what they were talking about after reading the comments:hehe:
Ive heard the Real Techniques sponge is pretty awesome. I havent tried the Beauty Blener or the RT one so cant say...but the price of the besuty blender annoys me so..lol
Re: beauty blender?
Would primer still be necessary if you use a wet sponge, or no?

spending $20 on a sponge does seem a bit much :( thats why im trying to figure out if i should get the real deal or just settle for a dupe for half the price. but again, mehenga roay ek bar, sasta roay bar bar lol (Urdu proverb meaning expensive things make you cry once, cheap things make you cry many times)
It honestly lasts such a long time and the finish is so flawless that you are just better off investing in it. Sometimes they have a packaged deal, go for that. But do GET it!!!
Re: beauty blender?
Quite agree. Currently, Sephora has a deal for a set of two. I think they even have one that’s a set of two along with the cleaner:
Re: beauty blender?

Re: beauty blender?
I'm not a makeup person and never used a brush before so I can't tell the difference, but I recently tried one and noticed that more foundation was used using beauty blender (I used damped blender) than fingers, is it really so?

beauty blender is a sponge so it will absorb a bit of the makeup.
