i use stippling brush or a flat top brush to apply foundation. i dont think that the brush absorbs any product. but i think it gives a more even application compared to fingers.
Re: beauty blender?
How often do you guys clean your blenders?? I have one and have used it a few times but havnt purchased the cleanser yet. Can I use another makeup cleaning cleanser? I have one from Bare Essentials for their makeup brushes.
Re: beauty blender?
I absolutely love it; however I am paranoid about the sponge soaking product hence bacteria so I hate washing it, which is quiet often
Re: beauty blender?
Does it dry quickly after washing it?

i'm sure you can use any cleanser. i make my own brush cleanser by mixing water, alcohol, and shampoo. it basically has the same ingredients as regular brush cleanser you would get from any makeup brand, but it costs much less to make it yourself.
Re: beauty blender?
How long does one beauty blender sponge last before you need to discard it? And how often do you ladies wash it?
Re: beauty blender?
^If you take care of it and wash it regularly, it should last about 3-4 months or so. I usually wash it every couple of uses (as I find the application is much better when it is clean), but I think washing it a couple of times per week should do.
The company makes a specific cleanser for it but I've never bothered with that. I just use the regular MAC brush cleanser that I use for the rest of my brushes and it works quite well. I think any makeup cleanser will do.
Re: beauty blender?
^is it better to buy 2 of them for $28 or just 1 for $20? if it needs to get replaced in a few months, then it will be better to get 2 , right?
Re: beauty blender?
^I think it depends on how often you intend to use it. Personally, I think it's better to buy the set of two.
Re: beauty blender?
Beauty Blender Double this site has the bb duo for 22 bucks which is a really great deal. I order from here instead of sephora.
I clean my bb before and after every use. You need to use the sponge wet and I just put a few drops of my philosphy cleanser in a bowl of water and let it sink in there when I am applying my moisturizer and primer. I wash the bb and then I pat it dry on a towel I use to primarily wipe off my brushes to prevent transfer of color. And once I am done with the bb brush I leave it in some new soapy water and then just wash it out. Hope this helps.
Re: beauty blender?
I love my beauty blender. I wet it a bit before using so it doesn't absorb that much product. Plus by wetting it it gives me a dewy finish. Me loves!!

$20 for a sponge! I'm sorry this is all wrong when there are people dying in the world shelling out $80 a year on a sponge just seems excessive.
Re: beauty blender?
i saw similar deal on amazon as well. but then i read one of the reviews stated it wasn’t authentic. do you think this site is selling the real stuff ? $22 for 2 just seems to good to be true when its $29 on sephora ![]()
Re: beauty blender?
ok so i want to share an update on beauty blender. i purchased it last week and have used it 3 times. it really is worth every penny. very easy to use and the foundation goes on very smooth. i think its a must have for thicker full coverage foundation. i was using stippling brush from MAC before but i find beauty blender to be easier to use and great for medium to full coverage foundation. i bought it from sephora.
Since i was coming to Pakistan and didn't want to spend a lot on

Don't waste your money buying the cleansers, they are overly priced and good old baby shampoo works just as well if not better than those. Plus it's way cheaper and you can get a huge bottle.
A lady at Sephora actually told me this, and I try to clean mine after I use it, because you're using it on your face, so keeping your makeup tools clean leads to less breakouts.
Re: beauty blender?
Girls just a heads up if you live in US and Canada, if the beauty blender is too expensive for your taste, try out the Real techniques - miracle complexion sponge; you can find it at ULTA stores in the US and order it online also. It’s much cheaper and works exactly the same way as the beauty blender. I have both, and at times opt for this one more often.

Re: beauty blender?
Another thing when it comes to how much you're getting - the wetter the sponge is, the more product it will pick up. So to avoid that cakey looking feeling or to avoid getting too much product on the beauty blender /other sponges - make sure the sponge isn't sopping wet - it can be a little damp for best results but if there's water dripping from it, it's too wet, use a towel and dry it a bit before using it. Also if you're a person who likes to layer on different products, make sure you are waiting a few minutes between applying concealer, foundation, powder. You need to let the makeup set before putting something else on top of it. Otherwise it will look cakey and it will seep through fine lines and accentuate any wrinkles you make have.

once i month, i wash my brushes with baby shampoo. but for everyday cleansing, i mix alcohol, shampoo and water and use that as a daily sanitizer or whenever there is a buildup of products on the brush. brush cleanser that you buy from makeup stores have the same exact ingredients
