Re: beard or no beard?
are you sure you're a Muslim.....cuz you have just told a Muslim girl to go and marry an kafir. you are so ignorant.
beard is sunnah ...not obligatory....hence you dont have to keep it.
I have heard of some guys with very long beards.....and they hid illegal drugs under their beard...but they got caught....
so a beard isnt everything.
I know of many beard guys doing haram things....
whats the point of having a beard (a sunnah) but not doing the fard (obligatory) things?
My point is do the FARD first then concentrate on the sunnahs
Re: beard or no beard?
i would like it if my husband had it...but only if he did everything else as well (ie prayed etc). the choice is up to him if he wants it or not.
Re: beard or no beard?
lol…mustaches..not good.
Re: beard or no beard?
Here's a hadith that I could find:
...the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Cut the moustache and let the beard grow; be different from the mushrikeen.” (al-Bukhaari, al-Libaas, 5442; Muslim, al-Tahaarah, 382)
Re: beard or no beard?
From that it seems like we shud do it.

U'll realize the Sunnah are the key to ESTABLISHING your fardhs.
People don't realize sunnah, fardh, these are all characteristics a muslim needs to adopt, alll methods we need to follow.
Sure its hard, today's world people should do fardhs, and a lil bit of sunnahs, and avoid haraam, baam, he/or she is destined for heaven then. But, honestly, without sunnahs, life is tough...especiallyw hen it comes to doing your fardhs.
Sure establish your fardhs, but try to adopt as many sunnahs as you can too.
In the end, if the PRophet pbuh kept one, if he told us to keep one, and we regard him as something high...and someone we follow...so why shouldn't we keep one?
Re: beard or no beard?
When i can grow a proper one, then I will.

there are MANY bearded guys at my uni and some of them are known for flirting....I mean the whole uni knows they are flirts cuz they flirt with all the girls....hijabi or nonhjabi....
which means the guy isnt doing the fard and keeping the sunnah (i.e. beard)
and in this way he is giving a BAD NAME to the rest of the guys with beards.
also you see some people who do haram things (e.g. kill innocent people) and they happen to have a beard....it gives a bad name to all people with beards and makes life harder for them
for this reason I believe its important to follow the rest of Islam properly....
Re: beard or no beard?

exact point i just made
Re: beard or no beard?
if ur light skin then thumbs up, on the other hand if ur dark skinned clean shaved would be perfect.
Re: beard or no beard?
I thought you'd be in favour of beards given the amount of lectures/naseehat (or at least it appears as though you're preaching) you deliver on GS on how women should be (or pure women) in the light of Islam. Therefore, I thought you'd be implementing it all on yourself first from an Islamic perspective and not caring about what others have to say.
My aim is not to preach; I do believe in the purity of a female (as well as male) and I try to stay on siratul-mustakeem. However, I'm not convinced that those muslims who don't keep a beard are any less religous than those who keep one. Again, the prophet (pbuh) kept one and those who follow this sunnah are held in high esteem in my books but it doesn't mean they are closer to Allah (swt) than those believers who are clean shaven.

I agree fardh is more important...but people shouldn't disregard Sunnah either.
And, its really not about how you are on the outsie that counts..its how ur heart is that matters... so we can't generalize all bearded guys like that, or shaved guys for being bad.

Well you only said that you prefer a clean-shaven guy.. didn't you? Al-Sunnah can't be separated from Quran and comes after the holy Quran.. Sunnah is obligatory according to me..as it is mentioned in Hadith. One who rejects Hadith and Sunnah but only follows Quran is not a complete Muslim. fard is mandatory
you want to marry a muslim guy but want him to be like what you like and not Sunnah preaches is hilarious. wats wrong in marrying Indian or Chinese if they are nice according to you? Just a thought.

I married a Chinese/Phillipino guy. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. Please go preach your ignorance somewhere else.
Re: beard or no beard?
Its okay if he converted.. If he didn't convert then you should ask him to. Marriage to non-muslims is considered invalid and amounts to zeena.. please consult religious texts or hire a good moulvi.
Re: beard or no beard?
Thank you for your advice. God has given me enough intelligence to deal :)
Re: beard or no beard?
