So I keep debating whether to keep one or not. I keep it trimmed and tidy when I do keep it but I’m not sure what the consensus is amongst the outside people (My family says anything looks good on me, alhumdullilah; but they’re family so I take it with a grain of NaCl).
Hence, I ask you people (specifically the ladies 
), how do y’all feel about trimmed, tidy beards? Thumbs up or Thumbs down?

I prefer guys with no beard (personal preference)
stubble is ok...i.e. unshaved for 3/4 days but nothing more than that :)

Keeping a beard is sawaab but its not farz or wajhib (as far as i know). But to be honest, when I do keep it, it is because of religous reasons as well as lookwise. I’m not a fan of the maulvi beards but I do respect those who keep it.

^ Well…if you get to a point where you LOVE the Prophet pbuh so much that you want to imitate him, Keep it. Honestly, there should be nothing holding you back…
Once you debate, you’re only debating if people will like it on you or not…
But trust me the idea that after a beard you’re unattractive is so untrue…
Most importantly, Allah will be happy with you, so why should others matter.

Then go and marry a Chinese or a Hindu.. Prophet(pbuh) advised his followers to keep beard and beard looks good on a musalman.. It sorta differentiates between a momin and kafir in a crude way but aajkal ki larkiyaan. Allah(swt) muaaf karey janab! You should be indifferent to that actually.

I once tried to grow an Islamic style beard. Problem is, I don't have that much facial hair. It grew in spread out patches and I kind of looked like a sick cat :(

Well there's a difference of opinion over beard then.
I thought you'd be in favour of beards given the amount of lectures/naseehat (or at least it appears as though you're preaching) you deliver on GS on how women should be (or pure women) in the light of Islam. Therefore, I thought you'd be implementing it all on yourself first from an Islamic perspective and not caring about what others have to say.
