Beard : Dealbreaker

Usually, I’ve heard of women getting turned OFF by beards, and this being an issue for bearded men more so when they look for wives.

I just had a guy friend complain to me about how sometimes during his rishta hunt, he had to deal with girls requiring a beard of him…with the logic that if they are hijabis, then their husbands should have beards, otherwise he doesn’t meat their religious standard…

Is this true?? Do you know girls for whom having a husband with a beard is necessary??

I always thought it was usually a turnoff.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

For me it is a no no. I told my hubby never to grow one… but I might not mind it as much once I am older. But right now… I wouldn't be too thrilled about it.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

He shouldn't change himself for someone else in my opinion. He keeps his beard for his lord not the girl.

Same goes for the girl. Her hijab is for her and her lord.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

My own wife was one of those who wanted a guy who keeps a beard, as were many of her friends. The beard issue has also been a dealbreaker in the case of some friends. As in they're going to keep the beard, if the girl doesn't like it, she should find someone else.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

My husband keeps a beard, not out of religious reasons but because he has to have some sort of facial hair. I find it much ore attractive than a mustache, so I'm ok with it.

Same as PP, my husband has a beard...well, a light one, cos he looks awesome that way lol not for religious reasons.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Yes it is mandatory for some people. One does not have to be pious. They however do require a beard to show off their piety.....

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

What a selfish act.. Don't please your Lord, please me because I don't fancy you ... Me me me .... If you don't wanna bearded guy don't talk to one, just don't try to get someone to change for the worse for you...live and let live ..

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

While I haven't heard of it personally, I can see it happening. It is the same as wanting a man with no beard, is it not? Comes down to preference.

Some people know what they want and if they want a beard (for whatever reason).........they will probably won't settle until they find a man with a beard

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

The bold part has changed the meaning of your whole post . :D

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

What are we talking about here, a trimmed beard or a Dumbledore?

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

^ mehndi colored optional? :hmmm:

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

^ Men colour their beards? Doesn't that defeat the manliness of the beard?

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Sir ji, does the carpet match the purdah? :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Men coloring their beards? Hmmm, I dont usually keep a long beard, but that molvi gives me an idea. If i kept a beard i'd want to have mine colored purple and then i'd be wearing an AC/DC shirt. Oh man totally worth it!

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Never heard of women who have a requirement for beard. Infact its the opposite - its a deal breaker for many girls if the guy has one.

I cant see how a beard (religious Wahhabi one) can be aesthetically pleasing and therefore appealing to women. Maybe some women have a fetish for it, idk.

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Some hijabi or niqaabi girls will only consider a guy with a beard.. Each to their own..

Re: Beard : Dealbreaker

Just so you know. The Prophet SAW also died his beard in mehndi. Wouldn't be appropriate to make fun of "colored beard"...i.e if making fun is considered inappropriate in the first place.
