Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Do you agree that this is cruelty and not culture? How can anything that involves the killing and/or torture of a living thing be considered “culture”? It’s mind-boggling how in this day and age people can still be so narrow-minded and backward…
View the following video at your discretion to get a visual grasp of the “sport” that i’m referring to.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

nothing?

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

I’m an animal lover (not the animal farm type) and this sort of thing really really sets my blood boiling..

They have dog fights too, my cousins’ had a bullmastif or a bullykutta or something and it would take part in these dog fights, once they set it on this poor malnutritioned mongrel stray, I tried stopping them but those FOB bstrds have no hearts, they were laughing and told me to chill and watch the fight, I couldn’t sleep all fckin night.

Some Paki lads have cock fights too, they add artfifical talons to their claws and watch them rip each other to shreds.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

i know, its really a crying shame and im disgusted at times by what the excuses that our pakistani people use to justify the heinous crimes they commit... sometimes its "culture" sometimes its "izzat" sometimes its "religion" like seriously, they can lie to themselves and feel better about what they did, but ultimately they have no one but Allah to answer to.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

yeah...all these cruelty towards animals must stop

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Must be stopped!!! Bull fighting is the other one which needs to go.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Mahatma Gandhi Said "The culture of a society / country can be gauged by the way they treat their animals".

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

^ Mahatmata Maddox said "For every animal you *****es dont eat... i will eat three".

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Unfortunately human kind is not yet developed to treat humans properly, how can you expect animals to be treated properly. Only few cultures / religions are developed enough to respect animal life.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

I have no care for animals, so this doesnt bother me at a personal level. A bit gruesome perhaps, mind you.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

^^ animals are Allah's creatures, therefore you should respect them.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

^ Acountry where people dont get treated what they deserve, you are asking mercy for animals??? thats strange.

its sad but true, here is other side of the picture, if you provide them with alternative employment, they will be happy to leave this crual earning techniques.

as I said, Animal rights are far far away in a country where humans dont get treated with respect.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

How is that strange? Just because it doesn't happen doesnt mean its not well-deserved.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

you’d be surprised, it’s not just bears going through the torture but other animals as well around the world

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=238632

the WSPA has been trying to work on the bear baiting thing in Pakistan and there’s a video in that thread which talks about how they’ve opened up places for these abused bears and took them off the streets, mash’Allah

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

i wish i could tie these people to a spiked post, and then lock them up in the cage and throw a herd of starving carnivores in it.

HEY PEOPLE HERE’S A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN EXPRESS YOUR FEELING FOR ANIMALS: www.pawspakistan.org, they might do SOMETHING .. -Promiscuous Paki- your experiences are boiling my blood too.. those cruel weaklings should go to hell

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

you didnt get the point, where humans dont get fair treatment, how can animal be considered to have rights??

Do you agree that this is cruelty and not culture?[

As far as I know bears usually win those fights. They are too strong for a dog.
Dogs suffer too in bear/dog fights.](“http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rlkGOBOe7A”)

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Oh pleaaasee! this is def. not culture! its about as much culture as is dog fighting or cock fighting in the Us and other parts of the world.

Not culture, totally cruelty!

Idiots!!! men i swear! what the h*ll is wrong with them?!!!

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

Amen.

I don’t know how these people can sleep at night after torturing a helpless, masoom, bayzubaan creature.

It’s like I know old white ladies who’ll drown unwanted kittens and puppies if they’re not pedigrees..

May the la’nat of Allah be upon all such people.

The Prophet PBUH is reported to have said “show mercy to God’s creatures so God may show mercy to you”, he told us of a very religious woman who went to hell for locking up a cat and not feeding it whilst a whore had all her sins forgiven for giving a drink of water to a thirsty dog.

Re: Bear Baiting: culture or cruelty?

i hope u r in your senses cuz u dont sound like u r.. the point is not who gets revenge and who is not (thats even worse).. the point is why let it happen?
