Look guys, i’m from a middle-class family, which if stayed in Pakistan, certainly would NOT have had a future.
Death of Ms. Bhutto is not the first tragedy to have hit Pakistan. It’s perhaps one in the row of many. The Pakistani public needs to wake up and get out of the blist of ‘saviorship’. No one is going to save us, unless we struggle to save ourselves. Our emotions often override our logic and thought process. It’s a proven fact that at every turn that we could have changed the tide and set ourselves ontrack to prosperity, we either deliberately ignored it, for we fear the change. Or our emotions played a very big role in influencing our decisions and re-electing the same people we love to hate.
The people of Pakistan have easily been conned into all sorts of compromises time and time again. Maybe its the inheritance of pain we came with when we split from India and the pain our ancestors endured migrating from the nativeland to the motherland. It may just be that the canny politicians who have often viewed Pakistan from the outer membrane, easily identify the common people of Pakistan with a herd of people whose mind is easily manipulated as long as a few keywords such as ‘Quaid’ ‘Islam’ ‘OUR Pakistan’, a few tears, and you’ve got yourself a strong number of supporters who dont know your background, don’t know the policies you will implement, but still vote for you, in most case convince others to vote for you because you seem sincere.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Breaking News…
Sincerity comes from heart and is not always pronounced through lips. A sincere politician does not play on the emotions of people, instead gives them the bitter truth, respects his predecessor politicians regardless of how corrupt they were. He/She does not point to the mistakes of the past, rather points to the way forward and a riot-free, problem-free Pakistan.
At every turn whether it was the removal of Ayub Khan or Zia, BB’s prior Govt. or Nawaz’s foolish departure, we have insisted on someone coming out to decide for us a course of way.
I’m afraid the time has come to take action, and finally unwrap and express the power people of Pakistan hold in their tears, in the sorrowful hearts that have seen many lives lost, many dreams shattered, and many sons of the nations wasted to irresponsible policies enforced by foreign-acting national politicians.
It is Time that the People of Pakistan decide who should come to power, hold the power to impeach a person if he/she is below the standards or lacks the ability to deliver on the promises to the people. But even more importantly, we, the people, must set our emotions aside for those more worthy of it, decide and vote on one’s achievements prior to the desire for public office. One’s background often speaks volumes about one’s future. We must not let our uncle encourage us to vote his friend’s candidate because it’s the neighborly thing to do. WE must vote for the person/party whose interests and mandate are a reflection of ours wishes and dreams.
It’s time to Take Pakistan Back Once Again…This Time There’s No Migration! There’s No Losing Homes and Properties…It’s Time to Make Pakistan pure as its name, and fair in spirit, It’s Time to Make it a shining example of Economic growth like its neighbors who went from dust to gold while we’ve spent our time digging gold to find diamonds.
Pakistan Zindabad!
