There was no conterverosy at that time, it was a pretty open/shut case. Pakistan team did not get caught red handed tampering with the ball, where as Sachin and Dravid were caught on camera doing so, yet BCCI has enough power to make the punishment go away by playing an "unoffical" test.
Staying with the current case although BCCI's support would make Pakistan's case a lot stronger (only because of India's commercial appeal) but I dont think PCB should be asking for support from any cricket board. We have a problem with an umpire, we have a very strong case and we should take it to the court and prove our point. If the match refree rules agaisnt us, PCB should take the ICC to the court and start a legal battle.
