I went to imran khans jalsa in moon market yesterday, so much emotion, passion...never seen such charged crowd in my life. The way the election campaign is progressing its converting into a very tough fight between PMLN and PTI in lahore.
brilliant! Heard there is a grand rally on 7th from lahore to islamabad, no?
Imran just pulled a monstrous crowd in Model Town, a traditionally old money upper class area. The area is not just his hometown but also a symbol of PMLN hold on Lahore. The crowd gave him thundering ovation and all that kinda makes to appreciate PMLN in some strange way. There is absolutely no doubt Lahore is the throne of their kingdom of Punjab and Imran Khan is the ultimate threat to PMLN’s predominance in the city, he’s held around 10 massive jalsas in the city for his election campaign, it’s a huge development. The man is such a formidable and ruthless critic of their party (has been for past two decades) but PMLN would not dare plot any harm to him or cause any hindrance to his larger than life jalsas in their own backyard. They can follow the criminal lead of other political parties and physically crush their opponent, cant they?
Makes you wonder if such basic freedom would’ve been provided to an opposition leader and his historic campaign by the liberal goons and tapooris that rule Karachi. MQM would’ve called for a civil war, ethnic bloodshed, broad daylight slaughter and total shutting down of the city if Imran and his sea of supporters were operating in Karachi the way they are in Lahore or rest of the Punjab for that matter.
So yeah thats the reason why there is "peace" in Punjab.

^^^PPP should support him fully on his stance. Bhutto was illegally removed by Zia-ul-Haq on rigging charge, though there was no rigging at all. Only propaganda by the media sponsored by ISI. Later this Mardood confirmed that Bhutto was going to win 100% of seats all over Pakistan, he backed out the promise of elections after 90 days.
In that agitation Sharif Bratheran were leading processions against Bhutto and PPP in Punjab using Punjabi card, knowing that rigging charge was fraud against Bhutto.
