I have the Galaxy S3, which I only got a couple days ago. I have been mostly using it for calling/texting/whatsapping etc. I am in the basement sometimes so I think that drains the battery since the phone signal and 3G signal is horrible in the basement.
I have been charging it every night even though it’s around 35% around the time I put it on charge (7pmish). I feel like the battery on these phones is kind of bad - it should last at least a couple days no?
I’m also wondering how battery life compares on various different phones. So ,which phone do you have? How often do you charge it? What do you predominately use your phone for?
Even my phone - the battery life is so bad, sometimes it is on charge but its not charging, I don't know if it the phone or the USB cord that is the issue...mine is a Sony Ericsson...
I usually don't have to charge my phone until 7pm... given it's around 98-100% at 7 am. I have the bluetooth turned off. I clear the apps/RAM from the task manager every now and then. During the day, I usually use my phone for pretty much what you're using it...calls and text, but I use a fitness app pretty much every day for about 45 mins. The days I use GPS or listen to music, I have to charge the phone by 2 pm. So I think it's pretty good. Smartphones can't last more than a day. Keep your charger with you at all times when you're out of your home.
I have an Iphone 4 and I only have to charge it 4-5 days or so. LOL
These are the things I do to save battery life.
1). Turn off the wifi, 3g and ofcourse bluetooth when I'm not using it.
2). Turn off the built in GPS and locations service.
3). Turn phone to flight mode at night, because i'm not going to make any calls and i'm not expecting any calls either.
4). Reduce screen brightness. I reduce it so much that when i'm looking at my phone screen it's only me who can read what's on there and people behind me can only see a black screen. LOL
5) Use headphones when i'm listening to music. I also turn the phone to mute when i'm not calling someone or listening to music. Don't know if that helps with battery lifespan, but i just like to do it anyway. LOL
Battery life denotes degradation or state of health (SOH). This is a battery staye of charge (SOC) issue. It has a finite capacity - coulomb's or ampere-hours. Based on use profile at the end sofa 10 hr period after charge it can reach different SOC.

Sometimes my battery lasts weeks. I just turn it off and leave the phone in a drawer. Then I take it out 2 weeks later and Voilla!! it still works.

What kind of a magical phone is that?
Also, you have everything turned off, might as well keep it in the original plastic it came in :D
I guess then my phone is doing fine if others are charging it just as often. My 3G is always on - why else would I have a data plan if I am still not receiving emails etc right away. At school its on silent mode and I never ever turn my phone off either.
I want to hear more from iphone users because they all brag about how their battery life is better. :p So, tell us what do you use it for and how long it lasts. :D

wow that easy huh?
isnt it just simpler to plug the damn thing onto the charger at nights?
