Re: Baton-wielding lawyers attack district revenue officer
The lawyers are showing themselves to goons. They should be arrested for assault. How can they ban another lawyer from coming to court with threat of violence? They are following jungle law.

Enraged lawyers thrash Naeem Bokhari
By Khalid Iqbal
RAWALPINDI: Lawyers on Thursday thrashed Naeem Bokhari, advocate, a major character in the chief justice case and the author of an infamous letter against him when he came to the court of additional sessions judge.
Some lawyers even threw hot cooked ‘Daal’ on the face of Bukhari. Four lawyers of district bar association were also injured in the scuffle. When Bokhari entered the court premises, lawyers and other people present there started chanting slogans against him and the government. Some young lawyers started manhandling him while others tried to save Naeem Bokhari but in vain.
This all happened in the presence of a number of police officials, including SSP (Operation) Yaseen Farooq, who then escorted Bokhari to the courtroom of Additional Sessions Judge Shaukat Mehmood. A large number of people, including lawyers, gathered outside the courtroom and raised anti-government slogans and, as a result, Bokhari could not plead the cases of his clients.
Bokhari apologised to the lawyers but they would not accept it, saying that as a lawyer himself, he (Bokhari) should have honoured the lawyers, instead of opposing their struggle for the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
After refusal from lawyers to accept his apology, Bokhari tried to leave the court but the lawyers as well as the people present outside started pelting him with stones, causing him injuries. The SSP was also injured when a stone hit him on his head. Four lawyers of district bar association were also injured in the scuffle.
The police brought injured Bokhari to his car, but unfortunately the key of his car was missing. He was, therefore, whisked away in the car of a friend to a nearby private hospital where they were given treatment. The lawyers dispersed after Bokhari left the courts.
General Secretary High Court Bar Association told this correspondent that they tried to control the situation but the young lawyers were very angry. He said that Naeem Bokhari should have kept in mind the sentiments of lawyers.
Online adds: Bokhari had been barred from entering the court premises by the lawyers’ community. He defied the ban by deciding to appear in the court of district and sessions judge with his two associates.
