Re: Baseball 2007
Bonds hit home run Nos. 752 and 753. Cubs win 9-8.
Re: Baseball 2007
Bonds is on his periodic homerun drought.
Re: Baseball 2007
Astros suck as usual at the beginning of the season
\Well duhhh. Texas and Houston both suck, so of course the Astros suck.
Re: Baseball 2007
so what you guys think about the home run and Bond's speech after he broke the all time home run record?
Re: Baseball 2007
Home run was classic Bonds with a long magnificient arch that landed in the farthest part of the ball park. The speech and other shindings looked appropriate enough for the occasion, and then Giants went ahead and lost yet another ball game. This is what Bonds-inspired baseball in San Francisco is all about. A circus that keeps its focus on one man, while the team has failed to win a single World Series since it moved to SF. Right now it is 16.5 out of the division race. In the last few years since I have been following Giants baseball, this is perhaps the most pathetic season I have ever seen. In line to rival the lousy 49'ers seasons a few years back.
Bonds will hit a few more home runs, and then hopefully move to some AL team next year (where he can be DH) and free up enough cash for Giants that they can actually make a move for some decent young players. There is a rumor that Giants will court A-Rod, but SF being such a pitcher-friendly ball park, A-Rod will be really foolish to make a move here (assuming Yankees actually let him go).
My back-up team (to support) is Oakland A's, and they generally deliver a semi-solid performance year after year. Not so, this year. They are 14 out. Blah!
Re: Baseball 2007
Cubs vs Brewers and Yanks vs. Sox.
Two good series underway.
Re: Baseball 2007
Yanks sweep Sox.
Re: Baseball 2007
Are you ready for some Yanks vs. BoSox? This series may very well decide whether Yanks will make the post season or not.

do A's fan do the same as raiders fans, u know..towels ghumana...like a helicopter :D
Re: Baseball 2007
Oakland A's receive very apathetic fan support. No body really cares what they do, which is such a shame, because they are always a young and exciting team. Due to being in Oakland, they don't have the fan or the sponsor support so they always struggle to keep their good players. The team runs on farm system. Hopefully once they move South to Fremont (closer to San Jose) they will have a better business model and more corporate sponsorship.
Re: Baseball 2007
Yankees have made the climb. From 14.5 down to 1.5 now. Cubs are 2.0 ahead of Brewers.
Re: Baseball 2007
Barry Bonds is finished in San Fransisco. Link

Re: Baseball 2007

There are few things that are predictable in life.
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Cubs not winning the big game.
I didn't even bother to watch the games. Why stay up during Ramadan and end up watching these guys loose.
Re: Baseball 2007

Re: Baseball 2007
So, now the CS is whittled down to
Boston Red Sox vs Cleveland Indians
Colorado Rockies vs Arizona Diamondbacks
Except for Red Sox, all other perennial favorites are out... no Yankees, no Cardinals, no Mets, no Astros, no Angels.... everyone's gone home to watch the rest of the baseball on their HDTV's.
Who do you think will reach the World Series.... and then actually win it?
Re: Baseball 2007
Red Sox are the favorites to win it all. They have the veteran squad, which is in full flow. Beckett, Ortiz, Manny, Papelbon, Dice-K.....
