Re: Baseball 2005
I don't know if anyone watched the press conferenece...but the White Sox are a bunch of class players. All of them. I wish them the best.

Re: Baseball 2005
NYY are one game away from elimination too. Not a moment too soon.
Good riddance with Padres. The worst division in MLB lives up to its name! :p
Is this the year of the 'Other Sox'?
Re: Baseball 2005
when was the last time the yankees won a championship? boston has far superior farm system and they will be good for a long time
Re: Baseball 2005
Yanks win on avg. 1 every four years. BOsux win one every 86 years. Not much of a comparison.
Faisal, don't count us out yet. Worst div. in Baseball was NL west...where SF giants are :p
I don't know about superior farm system...Cano and Wang made impact this year..not like Youk or Ramirez who will be more trade bait than impact players.
Re: Baseball 2005
did i ask the for the average? they spent over 200 mil but still havnt one in sooo many years...maybe they should spend 400 mil and they might come close
cano and wang are good players..but i'll take papelbon over wang anytime..plus don't forget about jon lester (double a player of the year and only 22 or 21 yr old)...craig henson..hanley ramirez...Dustin Pedroia..and there are many more prospects
they won't be like the stupid yankees where they keep investing in old veterans instead of building the farm system
Re: Baseball 2005
Youks and Rameriz definitely arent trade baits. Theo will try to make room for them by trading around his useless "veterens" that are taking up the valuable roster space. Honestly, the only reason Boston made the playoffs is because of Manny and Ortiz.
Re: Baseball 2005
Likely.
Smart ball just shows you don’t have to have .320, 100 RBIs and 40+ HRs player to build a team around, let alone win a series. Podsednik avg. .290, the highest batting avg. among Sox. I never get to see Sox games since most of the games were of Cubs on WGN. I saw them when they were in the process of blowing a 15-game lead to Indians, but in the last week of the season they picked up, and haven’t lost a game yet. I think they are on winning streak of 8 games(including postseason).
Jose Contreas has turned out to be a starter for him. This is the same guy who struggled in the Bronx and now has found his home in Chicago. He got some filthy stuff. At the start of the season, it was either Garland or Burlee to win the Cy-Young but I think Jose deserves to be mentioned in Cy-Young category since he was the most effective pitcher down the stretch.
Re: Baseball 2005
sup bitches
Re: Baseball 2005
Chal bhaee Pinny...
Yankees ka bhi bajj giya baaja.
Laal topi valay ... dikha gayay jhandee.
Thand parh gayee.
Re: Baseball 2005
I liked the way we fought through the end. No pitching and still eked out a couple of wins....A-ROd is to be blamed and Matsui came up short with RISP.
Re: Baseball 2005
PD, perhaps A-Rod blame and Matsui coming up short can be attributed to K-Rod’s pitching (he was pitching them curve balls in the 9th inning) ![]()
This was the turning point in the game. This image shall haunt the Yankee fans for a while :>

Glad to see Red Sox and Yankees out of the picture early. Time for other teams to win the world series. Past couple of years i almost got sick of hearing these two teams names.
Re: Baseball 2005
He was pitching them curveballs because a fastball would have been tattooed. Had three hits in the 9th inning. 11 for the game. Unfortunately couldn't string them together with RISP..like the Angels did. Kudos to the Angels. Hope they lose to Chicago.
You might hate to see the Bosux and Yanks go..but ratings are going ot plummet
Re: Baseball 2005
PD, LA and Chicago have the 2nd and 3rd biggest TV market, but I see what you mean.
Re: Baseball 2005
hahaha this makes me so happy…try spending 400 millions next time and you might get out of the first round hahaha
Re: Baseball 2005
what is $400M for a team valued over $1.5B. At least the Yanks didn't spread eagle and lay down like the Bosux. who have a payroll of $125M for a city 1/7th the size of NY.
Re: Baseball 2005
Thats fine Pinny. I am sure Yankees can still enjoy the rest of the post-season on their HDTV and Wide screen tv's.
Re: Baseball 2005
PD..u just dont get it..anyways the point is yankees suck!
Re: Baseball 2005
Faisal, it is about giving youself a chance ot make it and leaving it all on the field. after a 11-19 start, to win the division. Then to play hard until the last out in the 9th aganst a better pitching squad is all I, as a fan, can ask for. I am sure othe ralternatives like grabbing your ankles like the Bosux did against the white sox are not applicable for the Yanks.
Re: Baseball 2005
A-rod can win all the regular season MVPs that he wants but when it comes to post-season, he always lets his team down. Not that i'm solely blaming him for the loss, but it is true.
As for the NLCS and ALCS, i predict that the Cardinals spank the Astros silly and the Angles get their asses whooped all the way back to Los Angeles or Anaheim or wherever the hell they reside.
Re: Baseball 2005
^ Well, so much for predictions... Angels beat White Sox in the first game, after landing in Chi Town at 6:20 am. Says something about the Rally Monkey!
Pinny.. yea yea.. we know that Yankees are "god's team" etc etc. You remind us every time you talk about baseball. Now, thankfully, "god's team" is sent back to living rooms where they can watch the rest of the post season on their televisions. About time you start speculating whether Torre will be fired or will he resign? Or is Posada overpaid? Matsui is a free agent, so I am certain he already played his last game as a Yankee.
