Basant Blasphemy

Basant

Re: Basant Blasphemy

While the Muslim Ummah denounces the cartoon caricatures by Denmark, some Muslims of Islamic Republic of Pakistan remained busy taking out the funderal/jenaza of their Ghairat and faith !

While everyone's heart is saddened by the recent events, the state run and private Pakistani media remained busy celebrating the festival of the devil - Basant.

While 1.5 billion Muslims were sadened at what was going in the world againt Muslims, the "enlightened and moderate" "Muslims" of Pakistan were spending millions in celebrating and remembering the blasphemy that took place long ago by a Hindu!

Hypocretes!

Those who choose to stay quiet at what is going on, learning from their beloved TV channel the lesson of "GEO AUR JEENAY DO", are in fact with those celebrating it and cutting people's throat!!!

Either you are Hizb ullah or Hizb us Shaitan....

Nobody has choice to be quiet at where they are taking our Pakistan!!! It is not the Jaagir of Musharraf' or the other devils that are with him. Nor is it the jaagir of the mullahs who just want kursi.

They have no right to destroy Pakistan by damaging its ideological foundations.

Stand up now before its too late!!!

Re: Basant Blasphemy

This is what some people in our nation have come down to...
I am sure this was not the model Islamic state that Pakistan was supposed to be.

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Wake up o Muslim!!!

Re: Basant Blasphemy

I seriously dont see the harm in a few dances in a private gathering. Islam does not give you the right to judge others or decide how one should behave. I believe we muslims have developed the habit of preaching "We are better than you". There is no such thing as ideological superiority. Pakistan has a variety of different people and every one has the right to express themselves whether it is through dancing, making kites, holding competitions. A society needs stimuli to progress. Culture is the fuel to foster excellence.

However, it is the government's job to enforce law and order. If you endanger lives through flying kites using metal wires (or by abusing your authority by preaching hate and bigotry to the masses) then you must be brought to a trial. I have nothing but contempt for all those radicals eating away at our country like termite.

Re: Basant Blasphemy

One can do whaterver he/she wants in their homes. but Yes ISLAM gives ME the right to say what is right and wrong. If I feel that something is wrong than it is nahi anilmunkar, the lesson of Islam you have forgotten!

Unfortunately it is not a personal affair , it is something being promoted by the elite and those in the enlightened government. That to me is unacceptable and I will speak against it wherever I can. Yes I would speak against this behaya culture being promoted on our TV.

You sir, are entitled to you views!

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Mr. Dillation, when someone celebrates the disrespect of my Prophet (pbuh) I will not tolerate it ....!!!

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Kite flying is fine. The stuff which comes with it is on Basant, well, is controversial to say the least. But then do we really have the right to make such huge moral judgements and enforce them on others?

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Perspnally, I don't know the history of it among pakistani punjab and what not. However, it looks like a cultural festival to me, so I see no problem in it. Many muslim ethnic groups have certain pre-islamic festivals (i.e. naoroz among the iranic groups, etc).

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Saddening :(

Therefore, Arabs are closest to True Islam.
Pakistanies have lost the dignity and adopted the hindu culture and lost Islam. Perhaps, a Taliban type Gov't is needed in Pakistan to fix the nuts and bolts that have becomed loosend.

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Sure, Express yourself - as long as it does not conflict with Sharia'h. There are couple of things wrong in: Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

  1. Islamic *]Republic

Re: Basant Blasphemy

One festival celebrated by some in a city of Pak, and the whole population loses Islam. Waah. Go see a shrink.

Re: Basant Blasphemy

haha some...pathetic. Nearly whole of Punjab indulges in this hidious activity. And the same province has adapted the hindu culture (and i just dont mean basant!)

Re: Basant Blasphemy

^ actually hindu or pagan culture is a part of all paks punjabi or not
Regarding Arabs I dont think they are closer either to islam they are turning back to pre-islamic times or the times of decadence 30sec of "melody arabia" can prove that
The sad part is if you criticize such people they point fingers at you saying you are NOT perfect yourself and thus a hypocrite
this is indeed a very disturbing development
If I dont fast in ramazan and preach others to do so that is indeed hypocrisy
But those who donot participate in such pagan rituals have every right to discourage others from doing so
obviously it should be done in a manner that is not condescending, without calling into question someone elses faith

Re: Basant Blasphemy

basant - kite flying is celebrated in so many different forms throughout north india.. one may take it in any shape according to ones own perception.. i have ssen kites with Pakistan's flag, cresent, moon and alike.. do all kites in India represent the pictures shown above or they are one in million case!!! actually most kites are simple both in India and Pakistan so the above pictures do not represent vast majority of kites..

Its a cultural and spring festival and in no way related to any hindu religous celebration.. hindus also celebrate so many cultural events not related to their religion! should we stop playing hockey, cricket etc as hindus also do that and start camel racing - as it may be arabic game!! teh arabic culture is not islamic as jews and christians in arab world do taht same for centuries..

Zia times have done great damage to muslims in Pakistan.. propaganda about disrespecting minorities.. trying to put arabic culture as supreme .. has hurt and made us intolerant towards others.. rituals have been glorifies rather than morals.. muslims all over the world celebrate their events along with islamic limits and thats the essence and success of Islam..

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Lol.. Go Lahore! Lighten up, its just people letting down their hair for once.

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Couple of issues (more of facts) I want to inform:

  • Pakistan was NOT intended to be an Islamic state. It is a state for EVERY one to live in harmony. (read history, Quaid-e-Azam speeches particularly) [no point discussing this, there are version available for either side of debate - depending whose history you read up]

  • Nothing wrong with Pakistani culture adapting / evolving (and accepting things of other nations). Basic defination of "society" involves the word "evolve". A wise man once said "When a society / culture stops evolving, dies!". [Although Adapting hypocracy, immoral / negative traits is obviously will not be helpful!]

  • You cannot reverse times! Cannot unlearn things! hence cannot go the way of forefathers ... what you can do is accept, tolerate and guide people to make better choices (at best)! "Give me better mothers and I will give you better army" -Napolean]

Re: Basant Blasphemy

Contradicting statement.

Thats why no Basant, because it has more negative traits.

Agree

Re: Basant Blasphemy

You want to say as a punjabi I have lost Islam by wearing clothes as Punjabis on both sides of border wear.. live in same type of buildings as sikhs and hindus.. celebrate horse and cattle show or mela - e charagan? should i start riding camels or horses or wear long clothes as arabs do.. I think more than billion muslims dont agree with you.. Islam has nothing to do with arabic culture at all.. when Islam spread basic islamic rules were to be followed not arabic culture.. a muslim in Malaysia, Sudan or Morocco follow their own culture.. we are totally free to adopt local cultures and if u dont agree u start copying arabic culture and try to become a great muslim..

Taliban goofs are no way near Islam.. I saw a court picture in their times.. they wer carrying rusted swords in a qazi courtroom.. trying to create a scene like 1400 yrs ago..

When Culture becomes more important than Religion and when it (the culture) conflicts with Religion - then by all means continue, Islam can survive without these people - and please do continue to walk in your ignorant path.
