Bargaining or begging...

:omg:

Re: Bargaining or begging...

^LOL
I don't know how to bargain. I usually end up giving more =(

BUT my Aunt - She will NEVER back off from her final say! lol - It was so much fun watching her deal with tough negotiations. I mean I can't do that! LOL

but I think that's SMART negotiation...and not begging (I know no one here literally means "begging").

Re: Bargaining or begging...

Lol now u guys remind me of Pak n begging...u even hav to do bargaining with real beggars there.
they ask for more n whole bunch of them surround u like bees around honey n then u beg them"ja baba maaf ker day...jaan chore day" :)

Great thread. It is the above mentioned hadith that has always helped me control these hand shakes & smiles.
As CB mentioned you tell them politely that its not in your religion. At work I have always had customers who at the end would be like its was nice doing business with you & initiate a hand shake. My thing "Ohhh apologies or no offence but I don't shake hands with men. Its not in my religion." Beleive it or not you get more respect from these gora men. There has been once incident where a guy who was black got really offended & thought that I was avoiding the hand shake because of skin color. Good thing his wife was more understanding. I have also been labeled a lesbian once because of this thing. But who cares at the end I would rather not get gunnah then please someone who I won''t be with in the long run.

Also sometimes people ask me what religion is it or most of the times know its Islam. It actually ends up being healthy conversation where they learn something better about us Muslims then one thing we have been labeled after.

Every woman knows what her way of talking can do to a man. You can still get your work done, get those discounts at stores & still have your dignity.

Guys , this might just be a bit off topic but I HAD to share this funny incident !

I had gone to Pakistan for the first time and didnt speak urdu very fluently. My cousin named Chanda was getting ready and smeone was coming to pick her up … the door bell rang , i ran to answer the door and a begger said , baji chanda dai do …

I invited him in, made him a drink and asked him to wait … then went upstairs and told my cousin Chanda , someone had come to get her ! :omg:

she went downstairs , freaked out and literally ran after me to kill me ! I had thought he was there to get chanda , ofcourse that day i found out chanda meant charity …:omg:

:omg:u r mind blowing

Re: Bargaining or begging...

^lol - I did that too... a lady beggar was out the door. I was the only one in the living room and saw her. My aunts were all the way in the back kitchen.

When she saw me she smiled and made a hand gesture - for begging... I didn't know - cause she was dressed like other villagers...

Stupid me - smiled back and let her in... I even told her to sit on the couch while I went to get my Aunts. Both my Aunt's were like - who could it be at this time? They both came with me and FREAKED OUT when they saw the beggar on the couch! LOL

They started shouting at her, that they had given her money jut yesterday and she came back!

It TOTALLY FREAKED ME out! I mean we don't see classes here. I respected that beggar as I would to anyone else. Soon I learned there are classes, and whom you should interact with and not!
lol
