Its just so *ing unbelieveable. Innocent countrymen are being killed in one part of the country and we sit here relaxed in the other. Dont see any reason why the people in Waziristan, Wana and Bajaur would choose to be with Pakistan in the future after all the * being doled out to them. Musharraf is weakening the very foundation of our country at the behest of the greatest terrorist on the planet. Its so utterly shameful.

The people who are trying to justify this brutal act of govt, are hopeless. Even we live outside of Pakistan, we still have our families there - we still have brotherly relatioship with other Pakis. Imagine, it could be one of our family member. What would you do then.
Also, Islam srictly prohibits killing someone for a punishment without a proof so what would you call this - MURDER of INNOCENT PEOPLE......

The problem is, noone knows if they were militants. Why is it so hard for you to understand that no one is allowed to kill them without a proof, without going to the court.
As for killing the army soldiers. We are equally sad for them too. But you know what, if someone is making you a target and trying to kill you, wouldn't you try to save yourself ??? or would you just let them kill you because the media and the army said that you were guilty.

But the issue is.... Why are they illegal now? Especially after they've been serving Pakistan's interests so well in the last few decades. Pakistan army and the ISI used them to fulfil their interests on foreign soil and they did the job perfectly well.
They have no issue with the government. Be realistic, its the government that has an issue with their activities.
When the Jihad was against the Communists, the Pak government was supporting them in every possible way. Why is it, that now....when the Jihad is against America, Pakistan government has not only turned their backs on them, but is hell bent on killing and massacring them.
As far as islamist elements are concerned, go as Abdul Qadeer Khan, on who helped him smuggle out nuclear technology to Libya and Iran. Just cause u got rid of a few Hamid Guls and Usmanis and Javed Nasirs, on the orders of your masters, doesn't mean that there are no more Islamist elements in the Army and the ISI.
No, i do not fancy the army or the ISI breaking up. I pray for their strength, but at the same time i pray that Allah guide or destroy those who are using these forces for a purpose that is alien to the idealogy of Pakistan and the institutions.

Its not Pakistan's war. Pakistan does not need to take orders from anyone. The least they could do is stay neutral in this whole affair.
And do these steps guarantee protection? Al Qaeda and Osama bin Ladin command enormous support amongst the population. Do not be fooled by the couple of dozen secularists that you see running the affairs of the country. These people could raise an army amongst our own people, and you wouldn't even know what hit you.
These people knocked down the Soviet Union, destroyed US's arrogance and pride in Iraq, and Nato has absolutely no clue whats goin on in Afghanistan. Do you think Musharaf and his handful of me would stand any chance against them? These are the Taif al Mansoorah, it is impossible to defeat them militarily.

The military coming to surround the madrassah would have alerted the terrorists inside the school and they would have fled...
That tells me they should have fired their missiles 30 minutes earler rather than make sure the intelligence was actionable....

These people have taken up arms against Pakistan. Openly resist government presense of Pakistan and in essence has become an autonomous area. That cannot be allowed.

This wasn't destroyed by the Pakistani army - most likely it was an American strike. Although, this time the Americans were kind enough to inform the regime in Pakistan about its action, and like a bunch of low-level paid thugs, the latter assumed full responsibility of the action where only the innocent students died...

This is ridiculous. How even dare you call anyone, animal when nothing was proved. and without a proof they were innocent. And don't say that they killed army soldiers. Because you would do the same to save your own life.
The result is the death of poor innocent people (both madrassa people and army soldiers).
Whatever govt has done, is actually 10th Century thing. Our president is the main cause of clashes between public and army in Pakistan and the results are getting worst. Time will tell you that.

The laws of the country are unislamic and abiding by them is wrong. Islam commands you to help your fellow brother, especially the one whose being chased by the kuffar and one who needs protection. Giving him away to the kuffar is the gravest of sins. All these people are doing, is giving them shelter...unlike the Paki govt, that sold their muslim brothers for handful of dollars.
These actions are a recipe for disaster. And when Allah's punishment comes, you find the same people refusing to acknowledge that it was a punishment from Allah. These statement are wrong
The deobandis would have their version of Islam, like the JUI, the sufis would have their version, the moderates their version. When extremists call the laws of Pakistan unislamic, it's them who made the Hudood Ordinances in the first place.
The important point is the Pakistani consitution is Islamic, and though the Islamic laws have been set by some third rate educated Mullah, the country as a whole does have Islamic laws on paper. The secular laws do not go against Islam, and as such secular laws are not anti Islam. This is a requirement of the Consitution of Pakistan by the way.
The whole idea of Islamist groups in Pakistan really is a silly idea as they're not popular, and if they had their way in '47, Pakistan would have been a part of India.

"Secular" Pakistan has already banned drugs. The flow of drugs is actually from Afghanistan due to the opium crops.
