well I don’t call it an assumption because it is my observation based on my experience - experience gained meeting and living with indian musilms ..

Since I work in IT in USA , I had the privilege to have frank discussion with Indian Muslims , they do not have anything negative to say about their country. Only one guy who is from Gujarat have many negative things to say about Hindu extremist there , but he has nothing to say against the country as a whole.

Naabigh, I am not sure who were those Muslims that you met, but over all I have similar experience as Mirch. I never met any Indian Muslim who think that he/she is deprived of his/her basic rights in India. I even met Muslims from Kashmir who proudly call themselves Indian. Once someone said I am from Kashmir and my friend asked, Indian side or pakistani side and that guy took it as an offense.

Even if you find one or two who complain, does not mean automatically that they love to move to Pakistan or think that Pakistan is a better country for them.
