I recently had a debate with a friend of mine who suggested all thugs should be arrested on the spot to decrease violence in certain demographicaly chosen areas. The life they choose to live can be changed only if they change. From clothing, to rimz and bad music which leads to nothing more than the wrong direction. Where people rob you for your shoes and end up killing you. Etc… I kept saying he was wrong till now that I realize what he said kind of makes sense. I want to know what other people think about this and if this should actually happen in reality. Would it make a difference?

it would i guess, if people were willing to change for the greater good. But change does'nt come easy.

I kind of agree, however, there are several reasons why they can't do that. It will add a lot of burden on the jail system and cost tax payers a lot of money. Then the watch dogs will whine about justice and there are chances that the police can just arrest anyone and racism can increase. Some of the people who can't afford to live/eat will want to go to jail so that they don't have to work for meals and the list goes on and on.
