Not much is expected from the daughter of a traitor. I hope meets same fate as her traitor father did.

Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender | ARY NEWS

In an attempt to rub salt over Pakistan’s wounds, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gifted Indian Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi a historic picture of Pakistan’s surrender to the Indian armed forces in 1971.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks yesterday in Dhaka, Bangladesh provoked a response from the Pakistani government today. Reportedly, the Indian PM had placed blame on Pakistan for stoking terrorism and causing a nuisance for India. Today, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina added insult to injury when she presented Modi with a picture of the the 1971 war surrender.

In the 1971 war, Niazi surrendered his forces of almost 93,000 men to the Indian Armed Forces and the Mukti Bahini guerrilla armed resistance force. He stated that he had acted on the orders of the West Pakistan Military High Command under General Yahya Khan.

Modi had also paid homage to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during his recent trip to India by visiting Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Bangladesh is still stuck in 1971.

Time to move on.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Bangladesh and its citizens have a ton of hatred against Pakistan and they’ll never let it go. It matches with their big brother cuz they hv the exact same anti-pak sentiments. Now since the big brother is an Economic giant as well, time to cash-in the mutual hatred by giving a pat on the arrogant bull. Now Pakistan has to be very smart. I dont think they should get impressed with all this sh!t and rather focus on their economic plan and make sure they make it thru. The economic corridor is a awesome project and there are several others too. So just stay focused and sky is the limit

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

^ true . Once we achieve economic independence and get out of the non state actor’s headache no more BS will be coming. INSHA ALLAH we will achieve it one day.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

93000 troops? Good lord not again!!!

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

BNPs politics revolves around this.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

BTW 1971 is the darkest chapter of islamic military history. 93 k armed men surrender with out fighting ???

MAy Allah never ever bring such time again

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

The army said as basically besieged there, it’s not easy to fight in an area where you have no direct connectivity, an enemy in between and the locals also harbouring ill feelings.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Not BNP. Awami League.

Anyhow, I never got the infatuation of our folks with bangalis - they are enemies not friends. Don’t know why this don’t get into heads of our dumbfolk.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Some Pakistanis out of ethnic bias love to cry about the ‘treatment’ of Bengalis in Pakistan, but conveniently forget about the plight of Pakistani Biharis in Bangladesh. Those innocent people were stateless until 2008! Nope, they weren’t human enough to get Bengladeshi citizenship.

The whole whining about ‘our Bengladeshi brothers’ and ‘our Afghan brothers’ need to stop.

It’s like Reham Khan tweeting about suffering of ‘Afghan brothers’ but so innocently forgets that it’s KPK government which fully committed to get rid of them by the end of this year.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Those biharis who opted for bangla nationality got it . while the ones in the camps opted for paistani nationality. Still there are paksitani flag in those camps coz these ppl opted for pakistan . They opted for pakistan once and than again. It is our pakistan which forget them. We can have 3 million afganis but no biharis. I believe NS brought some families. after that no more on this subject. It is very sad really. These ppl are more pakistani than us.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Do you have a source to back this up?

As far as I know, only in 2003, 10-12 Biharis got the citizenship. I have not come across any evidence to determine that those 10/20 people opted for Bangladesh. I’m talking about thousands of Biharis who were denied citizenship and voting rights despite being born in Bengladesh well after the 1971 war. Only in 2008, a large number of them were given nationalities.

Pakistan is certainly a pretty tolerant place it seems, not that we are home to 2.5 million thankless Afghan refugees, but we also allow political parties to operate who openly ask for RAW’s assistance.

Clearly…no lesson has been learned.

But yes, Pakistan should have done lot more for the Bengladeshi Bihari community.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

you are right, BNP is pro Pakistan but corrupt.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Tasteless

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Pathetic…modi and hasina sowing seeds of hate. I am sure sensible indians will find it difficult to defend this tasteless move

I must note that Modi seems to be temperamentally unstable and unfit for PM post. He has no sense whatsoever of diplomatic nuisances and will say things which will actually hurt Indian image. Taking a cue from him, his minsters are also issuing statements i.e. we are conducting and will continue to conduct terrorism in pakistan, which no sensible administration would ever say. I cannot imagine Vajpayee, Mirar jee Desai, IK Gujral, VP Singh, Man Mohan Singh, rajiv ghandi conducting themselves in such way. it is a pity that indian leadership has come to a person who is unfortunately mentally/temperamentally not fit for such an important post and can unstable the whole region. No ray of hope for the region.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Hlaf of my first cousins are bengali national. I dont need evidence

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

morons.
They are just glorifying pakistan.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

93,000 troops surrender is a false claim and a lie by India/Bangladesh that has been proven in the book “Dead Reckoning” by Sarmila Bose. Out of 93,000 over 70,000 were non-military personnel. BTW, the surrender was more of a political surrender rather than a military one. There was no will from the begining to save E. Pakistan. The objective was to let it go.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

Gifting picture to Modi, and Indian PM’s statement should not chipak to Pakistan.
Pakistan should understand that past mistakes were very serious.
Pakistan should adopt lesson learned approach, instead of FO waste their time in clarification.

Re: Bangladeshi PM gifts Modi picture of 1971 Pakistani surrender

lol @ Gift exchange

Jub kisi ko uss ki auqat sai barh ker mil jata hai tu wo aise he harkateen kerta hai (true for both Modi and Hasina).

Pakistan should ignore the gesture but it clearly shows the intents of BD and IND. They want to escalate things instead of other way round. A VERY un diplomatic step least to say.
