Patna, Dec 24 (UNI) Ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Laloo Prasad Yadav today said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be arrested if he tried to ‘‘incite communal hatred through his speeches during his visit to Bihar.’’ Mr Yadav told newsmen here that since Bihar had not promulgated Prevention of Terrorist Act Mr Modi would be arrested under the existing law.

When his attention was drawn to Mr Modi’s proposed visit to the state, Mr Yadav dubbed him as a ‘khalnayak’ (villain) of the country and said he would give a fitting reply to the ‘communalists’, including Mr Narendra Modi, if they tried to spread communal hatred in Bihar. Mr Yadav asserted that the state government would not allow Mr Modi to create confusion in the state and held him responsible for the communal riots in Gujarat which claimed hundreds of lives.

**He hoped the BJP would be wiped out in the next Lok Sabha polls. **He asked the BJP not to live in a ‘fool’s paradise’ saying the secular forces were ready and gearing up to give a suitable reply to the saffron party in the Lok Sabha elections. He also claimed that the Central Government had become ‘unstable’.

The former chief minister questioned Mr Modi’s Hindu credibility saying he himself was more of a Hindu than Mr Modi. ‘‘Being a true Hindu I am trying to protect the secular fabric of the society,’’ he remarked. Asked about the debacle of the so called secular forces in the Gujarat elections, Mr Yadav said the results could not be considered a defeat for these forces.

He, however, admitted that the BJP candidate won the Godda Parliamentry by-poll in Jharkhand because of a division in secular votes. Mr Yadav said he had asked the Congress not to field its candidate in Godda as the RJD had an edge over the BJP candidate.

Pravin Togadia has now been officially banned from entering Maharashtra State.. there should now be a nationwide ban on the VHP leaders from holding/mobilizing rallies which propogate racist ideology.

The Maharashtra Government will not allow Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia to enter the State. It is also contemplating a ban on public conventions, which the VHP is planning to hold. Togadia had expressed his intent to begin mobilization of Hindu voters on religious lines in Maharashtra, which will go to the polls in early 2004.

The ban on Togadia was announced by Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Kripashankar Singh. Togadia is scheduled to attend a VHP meet in Goregaon in suburban Mumbai on Monday.

Meanwhile, a three-day VHP convention is also set to begin in Pune from December 29 to fashion a strategy to repeat the “Gujarat experiment” in Maharashtra. Reports quoting official sources said the state government may also ban the entry of other VHP leaders, including Sadhvi Rithambara, to maintain peace in the city.
