By this token, then countries like France are perfectly entitled to ban women from wearing niqaab, and banning niqaab is the right thing to do since it creates a public safety hazard and isn’t consistent with the practices of the majority.
Be careful what you promote in the name of the majority, lest the right to practice Islam be undermined in those countries where Muslims are a minority and where certain religious practices are seen as a nuisance to the rights and freedoms of the majority.
