^ Is that the only reason to protect a thug like him? If so then go ask the Government to protect Mullah Omer and other Taliban leaders and all other thugs in Pakistan in order to prevent them becoming martyrs.
The guy was hated in Balochistan agreed, but how come there was a complete strike in the province yesterday? Have the militants become more powerful than the state? A few days back Pakistani independence day was celebrated under the shadows of FC.
A couple of decades back Wali Khan was labelled a traitor, later he remained part of Pakistan's political system and now his party is ruling KP.Same is the case with MQM! I guess the certificate of traitor is also relative in Pakistan.

In other news, in Bolan, “gunmen opened fire on two buses late Sunday, killing eight people including two women, police official Iftikhar Bugti said.” Their crime? They defied the terrorists’ call for this “strike.”
Chilling but, as usual, there is little outrage at their coldblooded murder.
I agree that Bugti’s death provided opportunists with ample fodder for propaganda against the state in support of this so-called “freedom struggle” in Balochistan. However, please do not compare Bugti, who was at best a tribal thug, to Bhutto. Whatever his flaws, and there were many, the fact remains that ZAB was an Oxford-educated national leader and statesman who commanded an unusual degree of respect in the international community and enjoyed widespread national support even before his unfortunate death. There is absolutely no comparison between the two.
I just feel that Balochistan matter could have been dealt in a different manner, instead of using force! Bhutto made the same mistake. govt/establishment have failed to understand the reason behind baloch people anger and misery.
The main reasons which give rise to insurgencies is neglect and poverty, which has only increased after this war began. With the root causes still there, operations are being carried out. And the result of this has been that we have replaced thugs like Bugti, Marris with other thugs. The law and order situation of the province as a result is at its worst, there are allegations on the sitting ministers of abducting for ransom, sectarian killings are taking place almost on daily basis, BLA/BLF/BRA are still there. While all this is happening the Chief Minister prefers to spend most of his time in Islamabad. The way things are going I see a boycott of the next elections by the nationalists, and that would be a blow for the province.
PTI and PPP have stayed away from the recent strike on bugti’s death anniversary, where as PMLN participated in it. Secondly nawaz sharif has called upon the arrest of bugti’s killers.
Nawaz wants Bugti’s killers punished | Pakistan Today | Latest news | Breaking news | Pakistan News | World news | Business | Sport and MultimediaPakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti must be brought to book. In a statement on the 6th death anniversary of Nawab Bugti,
Nawaz said August 26 would be remembered for the wound inflicted on the existence of Pakistan by dictatorship, as this day, a coward dictator got murdered a brave Pakistani politician and a patriotic Bloach leader.
The PML-N chief said Nawab Bugti had fully backed Quaid-e-Azam during his visit to Balochistan and struggled all his life for the promotion of democracy.
He said the Nawab always upheld national interests and refused to bow before dictatorship.
Nawaz said Nawab Bugti was an upright politician and a patriotic Pakistani and in his death had weakened the federation and increased the sense of deprivation among the Baloch people.
Had Nawab Bugti not murdered, Balochistan would not have been in such a situation, Nawaz added.
“The arrest of assailants of Nawab Akbar Bugti and awarding them deterrent punishment is utmost essential for strengthening the federation of Pakistan and removing the sense of deprivation of Balochistan,” the PML-N chief added.
Yes, Bugti was not an angel. But the amount of damage Muharraf aggressive policies have done is just indescribable, it further ignited fire.his military operation and killing of Bugti was certainly a mistake.it has only resulted in more catatrophies and miseries of Baloch.what did we gained from this operation? why is that dictators always look for military operation to resolve issues.it should be looked as last resort when nothing seems to work.before his military operation Balochistan was pretty much a peaceful province.(compared to now) polarisation and radicalisation was not at its peak.and now 6 years later Balochistan situation has deteriorated so much, sectarian/ethnic violence, kidnappings etc complete lawlessness, after Musharraf exit, govt and establishment have continued with the same flawed policies, so its not like Musharraf is solely responsible for this mess.because current govt has certainly not learned from his mistakes, did not make any efforts to provide relief to baloch people. it seems like Islamabad has literally abandoned Balochistan, as if its not part of Pakistan, hence the jungle law prevails.on the other hand establisment stubbornly never seem to admit that they too made mistakes and should try to do something to fix those.errors. But No, they will just continue pointing fingers at this invisible third hand and silently watch, while Balochistan is burning.....simply pathetic.
Two things:
1) Things are not as bad as media makes out to be.
2) Govt did not kill Bugti for no reason at all. Watch video posted above.
Musharraf has made him a hero even if we don't like it, as zia made Bhutto a hero. Anyways we can see currently if his death has served to end the conflict or further ignite it.
No, Bugti is no hero b/c you can't make heros out of murderous terrorists like him. He is dead & that is a good thing. Only if his good for nothing family joins him it would be even better for people of Baluchistan.

Who is Mush to give out a death sentence? Even if Bugti was a criminal, there should have been at least a trial in absentia where his crimes must be established before executioners were given orders.
It was more like 'off with his head' from the queen of hearts.

He is not a hero for us for sure, but he has become a hero for those people whom Musharraf wanted to defeat by killing him. His death hasent served the purpose, this is what I see. The government has replaced bugti's and marris with their own thugs who are doing the same things (abductions for
ransom) while the province burns in sectarianism and terror attacks.
