Ball Tampering Controversy-News and Articles

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Well, on one point he is right. I mean, if you found the umpire's decision not right then leave the field right away! That way you draw more sympathy from the crowd.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

He is right and so is Imran. Pakistan protested in a wrong way and Inzamam will pay the price, we should have made Darrel the focus not our coming in and out. It was a mistake and unfortunatly Inzi will pay the price and Darrel will go free. I will be surprised if ICC be objective in this manner because they are never when it comes to these decisions.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

It's the the run-of-the-mill case and thus, should not be viewed and judged like this. High emotions were involved and Inzi was forced into it. That's the point to note.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Unfortunately for Inzi, Miandad and Imran Khan are right. Even though the stand taken by Inzi (pakistan) was correct, it was just a tad bit late, as they wud say in cricket their timing was off.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

I know and that is exactly what PCB needs to do, say that what Inzamam did no matter how childish was in no way to hijack the game. He was furious by the accusation and did what he thought necessary. We do not endorse it but understand that Darrel made the decision and cause the fury, we need Darrel to show proof not Inzamam. This is where PCB comes in and protect its player and make Darrel the focus.

What Inzamam did was wrong but what Darrel did was disgusting and he is not the centre of discussion. ICC will take Hair’s side; it is for us to make him the focal point.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Actually, I found Miandad point holding more water than the emotions in the posts here.

One day, I shall kill Hair… kuttaY kee maut

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Any sane man would agree with Miandad.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

OK, but who started the drama? If you bang your car into mine, I am involved even if I am sleeping at my home.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

And probably will also agree with Mr. Hair. Right? So simple :bummer:

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Two different subjects.

  1. Hair’s decision
  2. Pak’s protest

Hair’s decision ofcourse was disliked.

Pak’s protest timing was bad, they should of just protested right there and then!
But, with all the pressure from Pakistan and ICC, poor Inzi.

Re: Breaking news: Inzamam faces two charges

INZAMAM HAPPY TO FACE TRIAL BY TV

Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has requested a trial by television following the ball-tampering row which triggered the forfeiture of the final Test against England.

Inzamam felt he had to lead a protest against the accusations of altering the ball’s condition during the fourth day at the Brit Oval for his personal pride and that of his country.

Match umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove awarded England the game after Pakistan twice refused to come out of their dressing room following an extended tea break.

Now Inzamam is confident the lack of television evidence will boost his side’s
cause at a meeting of the match officials on Monday.

“The main issue is not whether we went on the field, it’s whether the ball was tampered with or not,” Inzamam said. “It’s very simple; there are 26 cameras from Sky Sports and nobody has picked anything up.”

Re: Breaking news: Inzamam faces two charges

as far as my understanding of the second charge is concerned umpire was supposed to ask inzamam if he wants to play or not before cancelling the game..that never happened inzamam did'nt say that he was refusing to play and he was'nt asked.in a similar incident when srilankan team walked off the field in a one day match after hair called murali for chucking ,they were allowed to come back on the field after some time and the match resumed.

Re: Breaking news: Inzamam faces two charges

BAN INZAMAM,i say,how dare him to chalenge mighty ,PUBLIC HAIR.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

suppose if inzy had came out immediately and then camera showing one of Pakistani bowlers tempering with the ball, then what would had happened,?probably he wanted to make it sure, that none of his fielders was actually involved, and then stay back.

**Woolmer fears for one-day series **

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer reckons the one-day series against England could be cancelled if Inzamam-ul-Haq is banned for bringing the game into disrepute.

The Pakistan captain was charged after forfeiting the fourth Test at The Oval.

“I would think the one-day tournament may well be in jeopardy if he is found guilty and banned for eight games,” said a defiant Woolmer on Monday.
In a Channel 4 interview, he added: “I am not a betting man but there will be more problems if he is found guilty.”

Re: Proud of Geoffrey Boycott 's statement in favor of Pakistan.

boycott is the man...most of the times he defends Pakistan

Re: Pakistan 'should sue Hair' - Imran Khan

Imran Khan calling Hair 'mini-hitler' is just too funny.

Re: Miandad says Pakistan cricket decision a mistake

Miandad sit's back, listens to other's opinions and then just mumbble jumble someone's elses sensible comments and comes out with a "shahkar" of his own. Imran came outwith his statement right away, Miandad had to sit back and listen to everyone else talk before he says something. This is not time to be in the papers by pointing out Inzi's "mistakes". As much as I dislike him as a captain I feel he should get all the support from Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Woolmer hints cancellation of ODIs if Inzi gets banned
